Lots of homeless people on campus making it feel unsafe at night.nnLots of used needles found all over campus.nnMany teachers make sexist/racist comments. One physically assaulted a student with disabilities.nnGardens are created but not kept up.nnThey cut down a deciduous tree because a math teacher thought it was dead, didn't even consult the hort department.nnThey let a tree die that was a memorial for a student that passed away.
I wanted to continue my studies here after graduating from SFU 10 years ago in order to apply for a MA program. I spent a lot of time and effort and money talking to advisors, and continuing with my application only to have been told after I paid the acceptance fee that they can’t transfer any of my credits from SFU because it’s been over 10 years. Wouldn’t this information have been helpful at any point in the last 4-5 months and talking to 7 different people over email, phone and in person. I feel like I got scammed. So disappointed. And now it’s too late to apply for school at SFU.
The school is beautiful, staff and students from this campus are really nice and politeness.
This school is fantastic in a few ways. If you want to learn something super practical or hands on, it's wonderful. Class sizes are generally pretty small, which gives you more time to actually get to know your classmates and teacher. This school is also very flexible in the programs that it offers. For the most part, teachers are very passionate and have a lot of valuable experience. Course planning can be challenging, as the system often overlooks sections and had schedule time conflicts. The school could also greatly improve it's cafeterias and student club dynamics. It's a boring school, but it's a school that will teach you everything that you need to be successful in your future career.
Started taking criminology. All I heard about was how everyone was a victim and anti police rhetoric. Took a course on criminal law, another one Criminal Justice system. Learning was about everything but law and justice system. Then tried Business. The instructors either didn’t care, were completely disorganized or couldn’t speak English. Then “certain groups” in school created What’s App groups to cheat on at home exams. I gave up. After 52 credits I could not take it anymore. Going to try UFV. Terrible school.
