Bannock is delicious stuff! Bready and fried tasting like funnel cake, but better. The Saskatoon Bannock was yummy, almost like a donut but bannock. It tastes more real and slightly savory. The only drawback was perhaps they can strain the Bannock after frying it as some parts were still dripping with oil and my hands were quite greasy while eating it. But flavors were delicious.
What amazing food and service! You can't get their delicious bannock and berry offerings anywhere else. The staff and friendly, enthusiastic, and super knowledgeable. An absolute delight to chat with. I was surprised at the diversity of menu offerings, it's absolutely delightful. You can find fusion foods here, light snacks and hearty lunch foods, as well as the advertised bannock. They have a decent coffee selection, but this is much more than simply a cafe. They also have smoothies and tea offerings. In terms of accessibility, they have indoor and outdoor seating, and are wheelchair accessible wheelchairs can navigate the space easily, and there is room for them at the tables, though many power chairs may struggle to fit through the door.
I went to Kekuli Cafe on the 2nd day of their "soft opening" and was pleased with my experience. The staff were friendly and happy to make recommendations. The service was efficient and the bannock was superb. The Saskatoon berry bannock bottom right in the picture was my favourite. The savoury options were delicious as well, including an elk and cheese option top left in picture. Got a maple latte and the foam was wonderful. Would highly recommend trying this lovely cafe!
I got the lavender lemonade, bbq chicken salad, and the cinnamon twists. The Bannock here is SO good. it's the soft and fluffy kind, different from my moms but still comforting. The lavender lemonade tastes accurate, not too herby like some lavender flavours. Chicken bbq is nice and juicy, SUPER filling salad. I would def recommend coming here for the Bannock! The staff are friendly and really pay attention and ensure you're not waiting too long.
I love this place. I wish there were more indigenous businesses like this around Canada. The staff were very friendly & the bannock was amazing. We tried the traditional, apple bannock bottoms, chocolate cherry, & smoreo’smultiple visits lol. I will definitely make a dedicated stop here anytime I pass through.
I have been coming to this establishment since it first opened and I can say conclusively that it is the best cafe in town. The atmosphere is calming and always full of good vibes; the food is stupendous, house made, and crafted with love; the staff are not only considerate, they go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience here. I have not made a review in 7 years, nor do I typically make them, however one was most certainly well overdue for this incredible business. If you have not already been here? Go. If you have been here? Go again. Haha
I got there about 15 mins before closing, and it takes a little while to cook they make the food fresh so i got it to go. - saskatoon iced tea: delicious! flavorful without being overly sweet, or unnecessarily bitter like some iced teas around town. loved it. - salmon taco: obvious mexican influence, it's a taco after all. but the salmon was perfect, and everything was well balanced. - bannock: not what I'm familiar with, but tasty. sweet, slightly dense, and almost yeasty. it seemed baked, and I'm used to deep fried. it could just be that I am not familiar with the people whose recipe is being used and I'm definitely not indigenous. 5/5: delicious! Parking: paid parking, shares a parking lot with multiple other businesses. right next to a hospital with a consistent parking deficit.
I arrived late evening right at closing time. The service I received was outstanding. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The Bannock was delicious and I feel very grateful the for the lovely staff and great food. You truly won our future patronage and appreciation. Thank you very much. PS my husband is hooked and has returned today to get a Bannock fix
Delicious and creative bannock items. Fresh plain bannock sliced, toasted and stuffed with scrambled eggs at home was a great use of the bannock
I liked that they have a few veggie options. I had the corn and beans salad and it was pretty good. I was charged for a salmon salad instead, which was $5 more, I noticed it later, brought it up with the stuff and they gave me back the difference. A little disappointed in bannock that went along with the salad, it didn’t taste fresh, I had bannock that was a lot better at other places. Saskatoon tea was quite lovely.
