KAST hair studio & well being

I tried out this salon because I read good reviews online. I was, however, pretty disappointed. I needed my roots done for a photo shoot and I left with orange and green hair. The stylist was good about coming in on his day off to try to fix it before my photo shoot, but he still charged me $250. I am trying to live with it and be content until I have money again in my budget for hair, but I am just really unhappy:/

I have gotten my haircuts from all of the stylists at Kast Hair Studio, and I have been satisfied with them all! Kast always does a great job with my hair, and the stylists know exactly what they're doing. I am always pleased with my hair once I get it done at Kast!

Update! They called me to apologize cause they "believe that customers are always right regardless of circumstances" and asked me to "remove my review from facebook as it would affect all other stylists too" . As i didn't, they had disabled all negative reviews (below 5 stars) on Facebook. Here's the summary: The hair looked OK if that was what I intended to do. However, my quarrel is that: 1) The highlight style was completely off 2) Additional charges (almost $50) without notifying/discussion with client 3) Refused to touch up/fix without charge 4) Change of colour type (permanent to demi permanent) again without informing/discussion I went in for a consultation with Mari and brought with my screenshots (on my phone) of what style of highlights I wanted done (individual red and dark purple streaks). First picture had the photo from the back and arrows pointing at each streak to detail what colour combination was used to get the colour for each streak. The second photo had the same picture but with a drawing beside it to illustrate the positions of all some of the streaks. I was quoted $165 for the permanent highlights and a trim. During my appointment, she decided to used a toner to lighten my hair (didnt tell me about it nor discuss with me) I was going back to my chair after washing it off when she told me to not be shocked cause she decided to lighten a few streaks so that the colour would stand out. Once everything was done, I asked her to take a picture from the back so that I could see it and to my shock, I could only see black hair and bright red tips (purples very minimally used and hidden at the roots of each streak made hence not seen at all). I decided to gave it a day to see if I really like it and went to pay. To my shock, I was asked to pay $210 due to the toner use (which was not discussed nor mentioned by my stylist during consultation and throughout the whole process). The next day, I decided I was fairly disappointed and called them to see if she could fix it (adding more purple to the existing streaks or something). She called me back to say that she would do it but I would have to pay for it to be fixed. I pointed out that she did not do as we discussed and it looked nothing like the pictures I showed her. She told me that a stylist can only do their best to interpret the pictures of hair shown to them and that that was the best she could do. No one who have seen my hair and the pictures thought that it looked remotely close to the pictures of what I wanted. Moreover, as mentioned the pictures already shown the exact colour and placement of the streaks so I'm rather disappointed to hear that that was her "best". On top of that, she tend also informed me during the call that the purples were demi permanent which is why they washed out quite a bit 3 days after the colour (Coloured on Sat and washed my hair for the first time on the monday - noticed that the purple streaks was already pink-ish on Tuesday). Was also told that she think it was a great job for that price. Note that I actually had another quote from a nearby salon that was charging $120 - $140 for the same services but due to time constraints I opt to try Kast out instead. Though in my opinion this may be irrelevant. In any case, wouldn't recommend

Have been getting my hair cut by Mari for a while now and I have to say she is a bit of a magician. I keep forgetting to post a review but if you want people to say "wow you look awesome" after you get your hair cut this is the lady for you. She has a great way of finding just the right cut for your face and translating pictures of styles into reality. I highly recommend the studio overall. Great staff, relaxing atmosphere, really accommodating scheduling!
