This campground is perfect for family camping. Close to Edmonton and the drive through the beautiful countryside is soothing. It is patrolled regularly by security. Campsites and facilities are clean and safe. Friendly, courteous and helpful staff.
It’s a nice campground, sites are clean and well spaced, but I can’t give it more than 3 stars because of washroom accommodations. I have never seen a campground that has single outhouses, not a his and hers but just one, that services at least 30 sites and the boat launching area. These should be 2 or even 4 toilet outhouses. Every outhouse in the park is the same… just one toilet.
Nice beach for kids, clean and algae-free lake most of the time. Beautiful view, picnic ground shady and well-maintained. The store has sandwiches and poutine and ice cream and coffee. Clean wash room beside the store. The best place to go to enjoy summer close to Edmonton. Bring your kayak or paddle boards or just go swimming!
Great spot in summer! Sandy beach, playground, ice cream/convenience shop, a good amount of picnic tables. The area is always clean and appears well maintained. We love to come spend the day
Day one I wanted to rate this as 1 star. If you’re wanting to go camping to get away and get some peace and quiet… this is not the place for that! We were in site 22, up on “the hill.” Not bad to back into but takes a 4x4 to back up a loaded trailer up a hill into the spot. Spot #22 is not a bad site tho; was easy to park once you back up the hill, right beside a trail that takes you to the beach, perfect short cut but really steep. Was too hot to have a fire but pit was in a good location, we had lots of trees in our spot so when it stormed we didn’t have much damage. Kids had fun swimming and on the playground. That’s the good. The bad, it’s loud. Boats are on the water till 3am with their pulsing music and anyone blows off fireworks. Thank god for a storm so we could not listen to that for a while. The annoying. The beach is rocky, big rocks, little rocks, boulders are on the shore and in the water. Would suggest water shoes or wear your sandals. The worst. The water depth is unpredictable. We didn’t let our kids go far and they had life jackets on at all times. One time my husband went from his waist to his nose within 2 feet. Please be careful here! The gross. The outhouse. I feel terrible for anyone who uses it. Pathetic. There is also a concession/store on beach was nice to grab a coffee while the kids were playing.
Love this campground. Staff is always pleasant and the COs are constantly walking the area and keeping everyone safe. The Playground is clean and well maintained and the Beach is always a favorite spot on a hot summer day whether we are camping or not!
Very Clean and well maintained ,big spots and nice deck for fishing..the staff are very friendly
Nice place. Been here a few times early in the summer. Could use some grass trimming at the sites but overall we like it.
Friendly staff, quite nice water, and clean sites. While there appeared to be some sites that offered a bit more privacy, if you prefer privacy on all sides, you may want to book well in advance to select a prime spot... many sites will offer you close neighbour’s. The day use beach area is nice, but beware if you have small children/poor swimmers... the lake gets deep very quickly, and the wake from boats create quite large waves in this narrow lake. Showers are mediocre, so if you don’t w much about showers when you camp, you will be happy free showers!, but I suspect campers with more refined tastes will be a bit dissatisfied with the one temperature, low pressure showers. Note: the shower stalls are not wheelchair accessible.
Midweek its quiet here, had a nice kayak paddle late afternoon, very enjoyable.
