Amazing little gem in little Simcoe. The pecan and maple scones is godly. The potato bun, with actual potatoes as filling in the photo, is really something else.nUnfortunately I don't come to Simcoe often, but I'll save this place in my Favorites tab.
Staff are amazingly friendly and usually spot on, though being such a popular spot they do get orders wrong time to time. They're very kind and I'm sure thrilled to give you the correct order, I've just never noticed soon enough to let them know !nI wouldn't recommend going if you're in a rush as they tend to be busy and being a small buissness with high quality items wait times can get fairly long.nif you're looking for somewhere that you can relax and take a break from our fast paced lives, a genuine 'third space' I always see people enjoying, and your order made with care, you should stop by !
I'm not one to write negative reviews, but in this instance, I feel it's necessary. I've been coming to Joy Café for 6 years now, and always recommend it to friends, family, and neighbours. Like others, I've experienced the often long wait times and crowded atmosphere, along with the lack of accessibility. None of that has stopped me from frequenting this business, but my experience today means it is the last time I'll be visiting.nnMy friend and I stopped by this morning for coffee, and I ran in to order. We parked directly out front. From the moment I stepped onto the sidewalk outside the café, it was a sheet of ice; I almost slipped and fell no salt or sand was put down. After grabbing two drinks $17.00 total, with a 20% tip, I stepped outside and immediately slipped on the ice again, causing me spill our drinks. One fell and exploded on the ground.nnI went back inside to notify the staff—not one customer or staff member offered to help, to remake our drink, to go put salt down, nothing. I understand there were other customers in line, but not a single person could be bothered to help, let alone rectify the situation including staff. I was, quite frankly, shocked; after coming here for 6+ years, I expected better.nnUnfortunately, paired with the fact that there is little to no accessibility for people with children the front door is far too heavy, the bathroom has no changing table, etc, this experience has completely altered my view of the café. I will be finding a new local business to support.
Great vibe at this local Cafe! Stopped in to check it out and will be back without a doubt. Many café snacks to choose from and lunch menu also available when I visited. Staff were all helpful and informative during my visit. Thanks to the great team. This is a must visit location if you're in the area visiting or live near by be sure to stop the next time you're in town. Happy travels!
They made gender reveal cupcakes for me and they were perfect and delicious! She made them so quickly and were so kind when taking my order. My family still talks about how good the cupcakes were!
