Decided to come to restaurant on a whim and it was the most pleasant surprise ever. I LOVED every single dish, it completely blew me away. We started off the joon bread and the eggplant dip, the bread smelled so heavenly and the dip was the perfect pairing. The grilled octopus wasn’t really what we expected, it was sitting on a bed of bulgur and it was amazingly seasoned. The mushroom kebab with the walnut sauce was just… chef’s kiss. The walnut sauce was so so creamy and complimented the oyster mushrooms so well. We also got the veal kebab which was so tender. The bread was soaked in the veal’s season and we polished off every plate we had. We ended the night with the olive cake with figs and it was the perfect way to end the night. Wow, i was so surprised that there wasn’t a single thing that disappointed me. I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes and I love how they only use seasonal ingredients so their menu is constantly changing!
Absolutely delicious food! Definitely a great fine dining experience. I love how Erin has done the Iranian cuisine justice and yet giving it her own twist that elevates the dishes just that much more. There were 4 of us. We got the bread and zucchini beignets as starter. Both were delicious, especially the beignets were out of this world by touching base on sweet, sour, umami, décadent and savoury. Highly recommended! As the main course, we got the lahmajoon twice! Because it was that good!, half Cornish hen with milk garlic sauce so crispy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside and delicious sauce, the kebab Georgian style with zereshk that had everyone ooh-ing at the table!, mushroom with walnut sauce. Oyster mushrooms are my favourite but they are also very easy to ruin if not cooked right. Joon got it perfectly. And to end the evening, we got the saffron ice cream and walnut cake. Both were great but the ice cream was more impressive. In Iran we have a saying: "Dastesh nalarzide" meaning the person's hands didn't shake. Joon's hands definitely did not shake when they were adding the saffron and pistachios, there was plenty of it for you to never doubt what you're eating. We also got nokodchi cookies at the end and it was perfect. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Go with a group, order everything and share! Thank you Erin and Joon for the amazing experience
So glad I went to this place! Visiting Montreal from NYC originally I was craving a traditional French type restaurant but a friend recommended this place instead. Loved all the Middle Eastern flavors and spices in their house cured meats, and especially their original dishes like the zucchini beignets! They were so good we had to get extras :
Absolutely stunning and delicious dishes. Super welcoming staff and the couple managing the restaurant are very nice. Can’t wait to come back!
Amazing food with bit different. Chef and management are super friendly and helpful. Super clean and healthy food. I love it.
Good food and warm service! Must try the homemade bread with sunflower oil.
Had a delicious meal and a wonderful time. Went with a group and ordered everything on the entire menu. A fun and delicious way to enjoy this amazing food. The service was impeccable and the pace of the evening was comfortable and relaxed. We also had one of our group who had a special requirement and joon graciously accommodated us. I highly recommend this spot and I look forward to returning.
We enjoyed are evening very much, this was a first time to try Iranian cuisine. We tried eggplant, octopus, cronish hen, kebab plate. The flavors were nice and easy to eat. We especially our enjoyed our desert pistachio ice cream. Tasted home made. Sorry no photo this time.
Eggplant dip was good, zucchini cakes excellent. Kebab however was very disappointing: the meat was extremely tough, and at 28$ for a small kebab I feel robbed. Portions could be a little larger and menu should have a bit more variety.
We were so excited going to have dinner in this restaurant with our friends, but unfortunately the main meal was so disappointing! I ordered chicken, and my boyfriend and our friends they mostly ordered veal kebab with pomegranate… which was the recommendation of restaurant too! That was weird no one asked them how everyone prefers their meat to be cooked! So It was almost rare ,I tried a bit of it and didn’t have the feeling even it is marinated enough, and it was super difficult to chew! I would not recommended it at all! My meal was not something special neither , but atleast it was chicken and cooked however didn’t taste The only nice thing about this restaurant is their starter and ice cream!
