Wow this place was so good! Everything we ordered tasted great! I was really impressed with the dry noodle dish Zenbu, Tokyo Iced Milk Tea and desserts Hokkaido Creme Cone & Fuji-cheese cup cake. All worth a try and reasonably priced. Service was on point as well! I will definitely be back. Thanks for a wonderful first experience at your restaurant.
Love the interior decor here! It’s cool North Burnaby, is starting to attract more Japanese chains. This is the second time we’ve eaten here and the consistency is pretty good. For the maze soba dishes, make sure to leave some sauce, so you can mix-in some complimentary rice at the end. The portion is just right for me without feeling like i’ve overeaten
The restaurant was well decorated inside! Friendly staff and most of all the food was very tasty! My ramen broth was so flavorful and my boyfriend loved his Mazesoba. We would definitely come back for more and highly recommend this place to family and friends.
Finally opened. Food tasted exactly like the one in downtown. They have the app where you can enter your info and they will text you when the table is ready. No need to wait and talk to anyone. Service was fast and food was good. One thing I would like to comment is they come by so often staring at your food to take it which made us feel very uncomfortable. All staff walks around looking at all tables so we keep having to explain that we ordered our drinks but want it later.
Went on a weekday afternoon for lunch and the space was about 50% full. There was no wait to be seated and staff were patient with ordering while we perused the menu. After our order was taken, the food arrived promptly and the presentation was great. The noodles were chewy and were not soggy at all. They provided rice as well and the meal was very filling. It is a little pricier than some other Japanese noodle restaurants, but their dishes are of high quality. The space itself is a bit more luxurious-feeling and the seating is relatively comfortable.
This place has a nice ambience and the food was great. I ordered the cheese mazesoba and enjoyed it very much. It had a great portion size and a nice creamy consistency plus having the extra scoop of rice to finish the sauce made it really satisfying. The staff was also friendly and even during lunch, they let you take your time and you never feel rushed. Definitely will be back to try other dishes.
I heard a lot about this Mazesoba place from people around me, so me and my gf decided to check this place out cuz we was in the neighborhood. My mind was blown away, wowwww. The food was delicious, beautiful decoration. The most important thing is their service was wonderful 10/10. The host greeted us friendly, we got seat quickly. The servers really nice and helpful especially this is our first time dine in here. We will totally come back a lot in the future, and we make sure our friends know about this place.
We came on Sunday afternoon and we didn’t need to wait for a table. The service was quick and attentive. I love the ramen and would definitely come back for them. The only disappointment is the ice cream. We had it at the downtown location before and it was a lot more creamier than this one. The one at downtown was made with Hokkaido milk. When we took our first bite of this one at Brentwood, we knew it’s not Hokkaido milk so we asked the server. He admitted that it’s made with local milk. The Brentwood ice cream tastes different from the one at downtown location. Next time, we will ask if it’s made with Hokkaido milk before we order.
I loved the Kokoro location in downtown, so when this Brentwood location opened up I was super excited. As parking in downtown is always a pain, you basically have to sacrifice your first born to find a space and then put a down payment at the meter for an hour’s time, I thought this location being in Madison Centre would have much easier access. I thought the decor inside was so well done, much more so than the downtown location. It has lots of neons and purple which gives it a retro feel. They’re most well known for their mixed noodles and I always go for their Zenbu Maze Soba which includes a bit of everything. The noodles were the same in both locations, nice chewy texture, the toppings were also all the same with the ground meat and cubed pork belly. The only thing I had noticed is that the sauce is milder at this location. I was almost tempted to ask for some salt or soy sauce. What I find most delicious about mixed noodles is all the components mixed together gives you a well balanced flavour with every bite. From the crunchy bamboo shoots, the creamy egg yolk, the garlic chives, fish powder and etc makes it really addictive. After you’re done with your noodles, don’t forget to get a scoop of the complimentary rice to mix in with everything else. It may not look like much when you first look at the bowl, but it’s actually quite a bit of food. Service was speedy, not too much interaction with my server but I got everything I needed.
Soft opening review! Pretty much everything is identical to the other locations except the new interior. Staff was very friendly as expected. In terms of food, i feel like the dishes could have come out of the kitchen a bit warmer/hotter. For the maze soba, it is supposed to have some sauce leftover after you finish the the noodles but that didnt happen this time so you do not get the full experience with the rice and sauce. Overall really good for a soft opening.
