Java Joe's

Good food in a very nice, historic, setting. Had coffee and breakfast sandwiches for $20. Service was friendly and prompt. The sandwiches, one on bagel & one on croissant, hit the spot.

Stopped for coffee and a bagel on a Sunday morning. The staff was friendly and helpful and gave awesome reccomdations. The cinnamon bagel was by far the best bagel I have ever had in my 36 years on this planet. I would highly recommend this place if you find yourself in Dubuque.

It's not bad but it's not great. There have been, though, a time or two when I've ordered a drink that is not uncommon like a macchiato or a London Fog and the barista had no idea how to make it. Also, they close at 2 PM every day which is ridiculous when this place boasts a full bar behind the counter. Most of the coffee shops in town are open until about 4 and the ones with alcohol are open well into the night. The product they serve is good and it has been very successful in the Des Moines area, but the Dubuque location has not proven very successful, likely due to mismanagement.

Absolutely awful. The experience visiting this Java Joe's location was the worst dining/customer service experience I've had. Ordered from an initial waitress, then 30 mins later, when we saw a second waitress sitting down with her apron on, eating, we asked where our food was. A third waitress told us our order was never put in. There were only 3 other parties in the restaurant. So, the meter outside ran out, the restaurant was freezing and uncomfortable, and the food was directly in line with the rest of the service--DISGUSTING. So, sadly Dubuque fails again in the customer service and restaurant category. I don't wish this experience on anyone, which is why I decided to share a review.

Good coffee and bagels. It's just disappointing that they are never open past 3pm on weekends to be able to order alcholic drinks or that they dont do live music on weekends. That would be really cool if they did

Only been here a couple of times but the owner is always friendly and very talkative. Oh, the coffee is great also!

Very good food. Terrible service. If you have 20 minutes to waste stop by and grab a bagel. Clearly poor management every employee seems lost and doesn't know what to do
