Japonais comes to southwest Edmonton. Like the outlet downtown, the food is high quality with a wide variety of diverse rolls and hot items. The materials used are extremely fresh and the presentations are beautiful. The sashimi cuts are considerably smaller than many of Edmonton's other top sushi spots...but that was a minor blip. The new space is gorgeous. It's extremely modern and clean with very hip lighting. The server on this occasion was so incredible. He was very helpful, prompt and kind. The only comment is that I found the front end reception staff to be a bit cold...like I was inconveniencing them even though I had a reservation. All around, it was a great experience. They are still working out some kinks it appears but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. 5 x
This place was so good! I was so happy to have a sushi restaurant open in Windermere! Food was awesome, we got the chefs sushi roll selection and a bento box. Service was very friendly, quick, and they made great recommendations. Kid friendly, we had our infant son in a car seat and they had no problem giving us a booth. Great price for the quantity and quality of food. We will be back
Food were good and fresh. Love the lightning and clean atmosphere at the restaurant. I like the king salmon sashimi. So fresh. Downside was our drink came at least 40 minutes later when our food came. We had to asked our waitress so many times when our drinks coming. I knew it’s busy supper rush but should not took 40 mins for 1 mimosa. I wish the drink were served faster because they are good cocktails and I could order for more but I was pretty much full at that point.
It's very nice and cozy inside. The staff is very nice and easy to talk to. The food was quite tasty, but all the sushi was dry, others were hard, or fell apart too much, etc. but this does not mean that the dish remains tasty chopsticks are made of plastic, which makes the chopsticks slippery and it was difficult to pick up food because the food would slide off the chopsticks
Everything was delicious and we ordered lot of food. The young waiter, he was professional and on top of everything. Also nice smile. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
Glad to finally have a decent sushi restaurant in Windy. Prices are as expected. Service was surprisingly good usually first month would expect a hiccup or two, so I can imagine to be even better. Interior setup felt a little awkward, too open yet enclosed imo. But the food makes up for what’s currently lacking. Had the premium platter, the Lobster Udon and Spicy chicken udon … tasty, fresh, and filling. Tons on the menu to definitely try other items!
Food presentation was gorgeous, taste was fresh and excellent! Servers are full of knowledge of the menus, super fun to visit with and very efficient at customer care. I'd absolutely go back to this restaurant next time I visit Edmonton. Shout out to Jason Front of the House Manager - he's very approachable, down to earth, and accommodating with reservations. Fantastic sushi fusion restaurant!
High quality and delicious food! One of the best Japanese restaurants in the city! Place is gorgeous and staff are friendly, from host to servers. Awesome experience and will come back for sure!Food: 5/5
Really modern looking inside with lots of booths available. I prefer sitting at this place to the Jasper Ave location. The rolls were excellent and sashimi was fresh. Don't think the hot stone was worth it though. Prices were very reasonable.Food: 4/5
I have been to the Japonais in downtown and loved it so I had to check this one out when I heard they opened. The atmosphere and staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is great and one of my favourite sushi places to go to in the city. Would definitely recommend.Food: 5/5
