Great cozy little bar in a quiet area off Brady st. The bartender was very nice! Love the little nooks to sit in the back of the bar. Not a flashy place but has character and charm. We even had good luck with the pull tabs!
This place is a hidden gem. Great “chill”vibe if you’re not keen on the chaos of Brady St.
I’ve known Jamo’s for years and spent time there in my younger and dirtier days. I’m older and cleaner now, but still enjoy an occasional buzz out on the town. Jamo’s is the kind of place to lose yourself in. Steal a surreal moment and disappear into the looking glass of Jamo’s. Patrons are friendly, the owner is a Milwaukee icon, and sometimes good looking people show up willing to converse. On the other side of the coin, Jamo’s is a neighborhood bar with a heart, taking care of its regulars. I liked observing that after living with the Seattle freeze here in the Pacific Northwest. The bartender can be greedy if you’re not a regular, so be careful with your cash, but that vigilance is part of getting that buzz on. Jamo’s is Milwaukee noir. Cherish it.
Absolutely love this place! Great cocktails and atmosphere, Jamo is the best! This a must stop when we’re in Milwaukee and always bring “newcomers” to drink at Jamo’s
Great bartender Brian and an awesome vibe! Highly recommend!
Visit on Monday when Emily bartends! She is a fu{k!ng queen and will treat you like royalty as well. Jamo's is probably the only place left on the east side with authentic MCM decor. They have swag lamps galore!! Their ladies room has cornflower blue square tile and a matching ceramic sink - swoon! Also, drinks are inexpensive and you will probably make a friend at the bar.
Jamo's offers all the perks of the Brady St. bar scene with none of the downsides. Being a block off of Brady, it doesn't get much attention from the college crowd, and instead it's always filled with the East Side's not-as-rowdy locals. Drinks are cheap, lights are dim, and there's always fun conversation to be had around the bar, or just grab one of the tables in the back if you prefer to keep to yourself. They're cash only, so make sure you're prepared, as there's no ATM on-site.
Jamo's is the epitome of a dive bar and it is great. It is incredibly dark and dirty, just the way it should be. Everything about it is straight out of the 70's, except, it is my understanding this place was established in 2002. They have Delirium on tap, so that always makes for a great night. Cash only!
I like Jamos, it's a nice loungey bar just off busy Brady Street. If you want a more laid back drinking experience but still close to the action, Jamos is a great bet. Note that Jamo's is cash only, a decision I definitely respect even though it's slightly inconvenient.
Why the stigma of a dive bar? It's a cash only bar solid drinks without the bs that is popular with the kids . The clientele I've seen in the last 6 mos is professionals service industry business owners college students travellers scofflaws happiers and not so happiers drama queens and drama kings . The staff is solid they are honest friendly and responsible .approximately 10 bar stools but many lounge like Boothe's for groups of 4-10 through out the bar
