Had the pleasure of staying here for two nights in November. As soon as we entered we were welcomed in a lobby decorated for Christmas! We decided to stay in a room with a double bed.nnThis particular room was pretty small but comfortable. There are no elevators so be aware of this if you have mobility issues. The inn is connected to a restaurant and pub, and the reception provides water, coffee, and tea every morning.nnThe staff is super friendly and the hotel itself is quaint, super clean, and welcoming. It is located in a very quiet residential neighborhood and it is only about a 10-15 walk to gorgeous views of the ocean and a small bakery with delicious pastries. It is also very close to a grocery store and downtown.nnI feel this review does not do justice to the place and service, but I would definitely stay here again.
A charming old world hotel close to Beacon Hill park and downtown with on site parking. Reception was very friendly and helpful when I had to adjust my schedule. The restaurant was good We had a PETITE room on the third floor which, as the name suggests, was small but clean, comfortable, and in very good shape. The lack of an elevator is a problem for those with mobility issues, but not a problem to me. Altogether a delightful stay.
We stayed for two nights, the staff was lovely and courteous, had a great sense of humor and made our stay homey. We loved the vintage feel and the location. The food in the restaurant was great and the morning coffee was helpful.nBe aware that if you have some sort of disability that effects your ability to go up and down stairs you should request the ground floor, but it was fine for us to walk up two flights of stairs.nHighly recommend would definitely come back!
I highly recommend the James Bay Inn. The hotel is a charming old building which provides the elegance of older architecture and at the same time is spotlessly clean and well kept.nnThe staff is outstanding. They are wonderfully professional ....courteous and helpful... with the added and most appreciated touch of engaging with genuine warmth. Thank you to them!nnThe location is perfect for walking into town too.nnThis is my favourite place to stay in Victoria!
Staff were very kind, thorough and caring. Our room was in the cottage next to the hotel and it was spacious and lovely, providing everything we needed. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and I have to say that the potatoes were the best I've ever had. Will definitely stay here again!
