I stayed in Best Western Plus for two days and the experience was really good. Rooms are very clean and spacious. The front staff was super friendly and I really enjoyed the complimentary coffee from the self serve machine down in the lobby. The location is good, in the heart of downtown so alot of good spots in walking distance. Check in and out process was also very smooth. The best part was the frequent check done through text messages to see if the guests need anything. Overall, a great experience!!
Stayed here as part of a Victoria Clipper package and got a great deal. Suite size room was very generous and the neighborhood was surprisingly quiet. Front desk staff was very responsive and helpful. Fun espresso machine near the lobby for non-breakfast hour needs; our kitchenette was well stocked and there's a local Market grocery store a few blocks to the east. Will definitely stay here again! also convenient to bus to Butchard Gardens!
The mattresses are mid-range quality and medium firm. The rooms are not very spacious. The noise issue that some people mentioned is not an issue for us as we were on the other side of the nightclub. The coin-operated laundry facility is a big plus. I wish other hotels would adopt this. The location is great, and the Ruby restaurant, which is attached, is very convenient and economical for breakfast. The gym is very minimal, but you can get an aerobic workout and there are dumbells too. But why workout in a drab Hotel gym when you can go out on the street in beautiful Victoria and walk, jog or ride a bike?
Super noisy on a Monday morning 2:21 am long weekend as people are finishing a night of partying and spilling onto the streets. Lots of yelling and laughing. I imagine it to be similar for Friday and Saturday night after a night of partying. This is NOT the fault of the hotel. It is an inherent issue of being in the center of downtown which was the location that I picked. Also there is no intuitive way to turn off LED lights ontop of her bed frame. I text the front desk and they responded,nn“please look for a small switch on the head side of the bed near the electrical outlet”nnI did look at that. That tiny switch controls the lamp. If anyone knows where this switch is, please help as I have an early morning 6am shift with my patients today in a few hoursnnOn a positive note: Renee and Steven were super helpful when she checked me in. Later on in the evening I forgot my key cards in my room, the gentleman at the front desk was kind enough to make me another key card after checking my ID which I promptly returned because I didn’t want to waste plastic.
The staff is very helpful and had great suggestions during our check in. The location is right in downtown so convenient to a number of things. There was a slightly strange odor in our room and the place is starting to show a little wear. If these items could be addressed it would definitely raise my rating of the facility.
