We have a specific love and appreciation for Jamaican food so we have sampled from places all over MA, CT and PA. Jamaica Spice Paradise is by far our favorite spot. The owner is an incredible chef who takes pride in all he cooks and was happy to share some of his cooking history with us explaining that his food is original old Jamaican recipes. I am vegetarian and have had two of the stew options: the Bob Marley Stew which is rich and sweet and the Jamaican Stew which is rich and savory. Both are delicious and full of flavor. My spouse is a meat eater and has had Oxtails and Jerk chicken: the Oxtails are cooked to perfection, soft, moist, gelatinous and the sauce is the perfect rich thin kind. The jerk chicken can be ordered mild or spicey, it is moist, juicy, and full of flavor. We have also had the coconut rice, white rice, and rice and peas which are all delicious. The cabage is shredded almost like a slaw, flavorful, fresh, crunchy, perfect. The plantains are so so sweet, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Seriously... you have to try their food, it is worth every penny.
Amazing experience! My first time ordering and everything was perfect. The food was delicious and flavorful. I ordered over the phone and the man helped me with my order. When I went to pick it up, the establishment was very clean and nicely decorated. The workers were very knowledgeable and gave me some food to try. Definitely recommend.
The best Jamaican food I’ve ever had! From Midwest to the east coast and even west coast. They have such quality and freshness in their meals. Plus on top of it, they keep it squeaky clean!!!! 5 STARS hands down! Love it!!
A local gem! The interior of the restaurant is clean, brightly lit, and well-decorated. We arrived for dinner at 8pm and received immediate service. He was very friendly and helpful, with excellent recommendations. The vegan Jamaican stew, served with choice of rice and sides of plantains and cabbage, was delicious and flavorful, and the portion was more than generous.
Oh my God the food is so delicious, customer serves the best in Springfield. The whole place is clean and the way they serve you and present the food it top grade. I recommend anyone who love Jamaican food and peaceful place to eat come here. This will be the only spot I eat at. Come na mon.
I experienced friendliness as I walk in through the door. The sweet aroma of spices fill the air as I try to make a decision on what to get. I went for the jerk chicken bone in, which they have a boneless option and curry goat. They explained to me that they cook everything with spice but not with pepper in order to savor the natural spices in the dish which is great so its not over powering nor is it one person's taste. Making it an option for everyone to try out.
This business stole my money. Absolutely delicious food. But, check your order thoroughly. I ordered a combo plate of curry goat and oxtails with coconut rice. I also ordered a side of jerk chicken and five beef patties and two champagne kolas. I only received oxtails with beans and rice I ordered coconut rice and beef patties. I called the shop immediately once I discovered the error. No one answered the phone. I waited till the next day and call the shop again. I spoke with the same person who took my order the night before. HE SPOKE for 6 mins attempting to convince me I received everything I ordered. Curried anything dyes everything a light green color. Nothing it my container is green. Everything is brown. I feel the entire order should be replaced do to the error. However, I only requested he give me the missing items. He refused to give me the missing items, wished me a blessed day and hung up. I reiterate, the items I received are delicious. But, check your order. Because once you leave, this chef may refuse to believe and accommodate you. Thank you
I do not recommend. It was $7 just for a beef patty & cocoa bread but I supported the business nonetheless. I made 3 orders as I was ordering for my coworkers also. I was charged $19.22 for the first order, then the second charge was supposed to be $7. For the third transaction the man asked for cash instead which made me a bit uneasy, as he had no problem swiping it for the first two so I checked my back account and saw the second charge for $619.22. When I mentioned it to the man, he stated that he saw it and that their system was acting funny. I felt like he was trying to get over on me simply because he saw the charge for $600+ but said nothing and still requested cash for the third transaction!!! He tries calling his sister & is unable to reach her so I left without my $619.22 peacefully. I leave my name and phone number for the owner to contact me and no one does!! So the following day I’m repeated calling the man I dealt with and the restaurant. Longer story short .. the woman he was trying to call the day before picks up the restaurant phone and let’s me know they’re refunding the money but it’s going to take 3 business days. To save anyone from a story like this one … just eat elsewhere for your own sanity.
The food and service was excellent. We had oxtails that were very , very good and tender.Food: 5/5
