Story

How it all started:
Zake “Jake” Habib believed that a man’s worth was the integrity of his handshake and his word. Packing little more than his principle, he reluctantly left his wife and children in native Lebanon and immigrated to Canada. It was 1967, the year that attracted thousands to participate in the International and Universal Exposition, a world fair hosted by Montreal to recognize our country’s centenial. Unlike these visitors, Habib was not here to be festive; he celebrated Canada’s hundredth birthday by working to fulfill a promise made in the old country; a better life for his family. He moved in with his brother Bashir, sharing a tight but friendly Spryfield apartment. Four years later, Habib’s wife Evelyn crossed the Atlantic with their sons Fred, Vic and Joe. They would also be blessed with a daughter, Lorraine, and Habib wasted no time teaching his youngsters about the world.

We were in Yarmouth for a couple of days, and got to try some really interesting local delicacies including Rappie Pie and Donair in a couple of different forms - on a pizza, and as a poutine topping!nnNice local place, with great people working there.
Friendly, fresh, family restaurant. I had the small fattoush salad with chicken. It was delicious and bigger than I expected. My husband had the haddock and fries, which were also very good. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.
A friendly family-owned restaurant. The staff were helpful and warm. The prices are very reasonable.nnThe food was ok. We ordered a salad that wasn’t fresh. I got the scallop burger, which was pretty good. My partner got the falafel sandwich, and she was not enthused by it.
I looked over several of the past reviews. Many said good place, some said not. Decided to make my own decision about the place, as today was the last day I would be able to have anything Donair related. Lol. I decided to have the Nachos, with donair meat. WOW! Did I make the right choice! AMAZINGLY delicious! The right spiciness and flavor! The young girl at the ordering counter was very nice, and took my order promptly. Now, I do agree, with another posted, that the A/C was blowing rather cold, but I think it might have been the table I chose as well. I would recommend this little restaurant to anyone visiting in the Yarmouth area. Oh, yeah the price was very appropriate for the amount of food I received.
Very friendly family owned restaurant. Food was good, service friendly, and everything was efficient most people appeal to be takeout. We sat in and watched people come and go. Seemed like lots of repeat customers.nnI had the scallops and fries, I would say slightly better than average but worth the price.
