A paradise on earth! The park has some stunningly beautiful scenic views in calm and relaxing nature. Good for spending the entire day with family doing fun activities including hiking, camping, kayaking and canoeing. The park is huge and has many trails for hiking. We did not get the chance to explore the trails as we were a bit short on time, but it's definitely worth visiting again to continue exploring this gem of a place! Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys exploring nature. It is easily one of the best if not the best park we have visited so far.
Loved the park, had so many activities to do. Best if you have your own canoe or kayak and need a spot to chill or just go in the river. Lots of people on the weekend and you can also rent a canoe or kayak here; downstream needs advance reservation though. Ample parking at multiple spots and get the map at the entrance. Should have had English speaking staff to help tourists.
Went little early to this park as most of the trails were closed. It’s still beautiful, regardless of the season. We had a good time on the hike and sitting beside the lake. Feels like fall would have better views. Located around 50kms from Quebec City, is very large and has ample amount of car space for visitors.
Gorgeous national park with lots of fun activities! It was gloomy on the day we went but didn't stopped us from hiking les loups. Bonus point is that we didn't have to worry about parking. We were the first groups of people arriving at the trail. We initially wanted to book the white water rafting, but since it was at the end of the August less busy than early summer they don't open on Monday or Tuesday. Make sure to plan ahead if you want to try it.
Absolutely stunning scenery and only 45 minutes from Quebec City. Definitely worth the drive if you’re in the area. We took the L’Apercu hike which is described as easy. When you’re from a mountainous area I see how it could be considered easy - but we’re from the very flat state of Florida. Not so easy - lots of stairs and hills - but still eminently doable and totally worth it for the views. Will definitely be back if we’re ever in the area.
This is a huge and gorgeous park. we visited for the day but could have spent many more hours here! We canoed at km 3 for an hour $19 for a canoe and lifejackets, kids kayaks are free! and then hiked the Cascades trail close to the Discovery Center. There was an outhouse at km 3 and a nice bathroom, cafe, and water bottle refill station at the Discovery Center. You can borrow backpacks to carry small children and strollers/chariots for free from the Discovery Center. Definitely worth a visit. The views are incredible!
What can we say? Jacques-Cartier is the classic Canadian National Park! The SEPAQ organization does SUCH a good job here managing this park! If you like to be active, the water spots are there for you. If you want to simply lose yourself in nature -- that is easily done! One caution: due to it's popularity and closeness to population centers, Weekends at this park can be a crush of people, so plan accordingly.
Amazing national park! This time of the year not busy at all. The landscape is 'raw' in autumn but this is what I loved about visiting the park this time of the year. Trails have a good signage so it's difficult to get lost. Administration building on 10km has a little shop, restrooms and the area to drink/eat/rest. There is staff who is really helpful. We were not able to buy daily entrance on the website as it does not load just grey screen but we were able to buy it on site. If you like hiking and get a bit tired, this is your place to go.
Had a wonderful stay, camping available, and lots of fun activities offered . We went kayaking through the rapid a stretch of 19 kms and was fun. Camped in the park for a night. Had a wonderful experience. Would love to go back again.
The perfect park for outdoor activities. There are hiking trails galore. Kayaking, rafting and canoe trip can be booked in the information office. Good biking areas. We didn't see the moose but we were told they are quite common. There are trails for all levels of experience and health. A define stop for the outdoor enthusiast
