The Pont Jacques Cartier Bridge is a vital route for bicycles, but it can get quite hectic. During my ride, I encountered numerous construction workers, making it necessary to navigate around them. It's crucial for cyclists to exercise caution and patience when crossing, as the bridge's busyness can be a bit challenging to maneuver. Nonetheless, the bridge offers spectacular views of the city, making the journey worthwhile for those seeking picturesque scenery during their bike ride.
I was there during the L'International des Feux Loto-quebec which is a competition between international pyrotechnicians. Or simply just a really good fireworks show which you can watch for free from Jacques Cartier Bridge if you don't want to pay and buy tickets at La Ronde. It is a 30 minute show that happens on 4-5 weekends from June to August. Make sure you reach there on time and grab good spots because it gets very very crowded!!
The fireworks look amazing from here! They shut it down for people to watch it, and there is police officers everywhere, it’s every Thursday during summer don’t miss it:
The fireworks from the bridge looked stunning. It’s a long walk on the bridge to get to the best view point but it’s worth the walk.
Having witnessed the Victoria Bridge, wandering in Montreal for local places of interest, passed through the subject bridge. Another historical bridge of 1930 offering distinct views of the city and surroundings. Learnt in July and August for some specific days the bridge is only open as walkway to let public enjoy the fireworks and it’s views. Enjoy.
My favourite bridge in Montreal !!! It's so pretty and attractive at night In July and August, the bridge is blocked for 2 days a week, only allow people walk on the bridge to enjoy the fireworks festival, really special and unforgettable experience you'll ever have Don't miss it
A busy and iconic bridge with a dedicated path for cyclists and pedestrians. It’s a must experience to walk or cycle on this bridge to get some amazing panoramic views of Montreal city! Sunset looks amazing from this bridge and cool breeze of fresh air and turquoise blue waters with some streaks of lighting stars with motorized boats makes it a picture perfect place.
Good place to walk around. Lot of cyclists. Very windy. Decently uphill walk. Great views of the city. Nice green colored bridge structure as well. Go here during daytime and when sunny. Take photos. There are cameras installed too. Be careful of cyclists and those battery operated vehicles.
Iconic bridge of Montréal. It crosses from Montréal island to south shore over saint Laurence river. At light it has a light show. There are 4 mini Eiffel Towers on top of the bridge given a gift from France for Montréal expos 67
The traffic can be bad during rush hour but it’s managed well with a flow changing middle lane. Nighttime light shows have only added to the historical iconic-ness of this bridge. The bridge is also shut down during the summer through the fireworks shows for amazing viewings.
