This place is amazing. All the carpenters, cabinet makers, and maker-people I know love this place. I went to 5 hardware and hobby shops to find small thumb screws before I found them here. The staff is great, very knowledgeable, and very nice. It's a small storefont but a huge and very well-stocked back storage room, where they can dig out whatever you need. Great store.
A great little hardware store along busy Queen Street West. Promptly upon entering a customer will normally will greeted with the question of what they are looking for. There is not much shelf space or material laid out to browse, so do speak up. The guys will quickly shuffle around to find what you need, often from storage behind the counter. The prices are reasonable, the guys are friendly and humorous. They also double as a locksmith.
I was thrilled to find a hardware store in the heart of downtown. As a woman with not too much hardware experience, I was a little nervous going in. The fellow who was helping me, Matthew, was very patient and answered all my questions! Very genuine service, nice little store with a lot of stock. I frequent Queen and Spadina for fabric, so I definitely will return as I get more handy! Must visit.
Always friendly and honest service. Went in today with a washing machine hose that was leaking. They spent 15 minutes with me looking for possible replacements for this strange European washing machine hose. With an 18 dollar replacement hose on the counter they noticed the washer on the hose was messed up, swapped it out for me. Problem solved for a couple dimes. It would have taken me 15 minutes to find help at Home Depot that didn't know anything about the dept I needed help in.
I've been going to jacobs for almost a year, when I work downtown and in a pinch, I need something, it's the first place I think of. 80% of the time they have what I need, which is impressive, especially considering the size of the store. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The cost of things is a little more than what I would pay at lowes or home depot but who cares, you have it when you need it and that's worth a lot more to me, try finding a big box store downtown.
Small space but VERY big Loads of stuff at the back. Friendly, knowledgeable staff for real pro builders and general hardware alike. Jacob's the best. An honest place to shop for what you need and they'll find it for you!
Very nice staff who is knowledge and very helpful. They are located just a block away from me so it's very convenient. In my experience, prices are often cheaper that home depot and Lowes.
I had a motorcycle key duplicated here, the cut was perfect! Service was pleasant and they were nice enough to stay open a few minutes after close to help me. I would recommend this store!
The best hardware store IMO, always have what I'm looking for go figure. Helpful staff and willing put you in the right direction even if they don't have what your looking for. A definite keeper!!!
They've managed to cram the stock of an entire Home Depot into this one little shop. Witnessing this miracle is worth the visit, but they're also super helpful and friendly.
