Ordered a Cheeseburger Fries and a Diet Pepsi $11.34 tax in. Cheeseburger has its own special sauce. A nice sliced pickle and a tomato which isn’t that thick and i thought was the perfect size. Fries are crispy and golden perfect with a bit of salt on them and dipping in packaged ketchup which some of my ketchup packets had signs of ketchup already on them which is a downer for me. Diet Pepsi was not correct i think it was reg Pepsi. But they corrected it and where happy to do so.
Been going here for years burgers were always bang on never had a bad experience untill this year this is the third time in a row I’ve been dissatisfied. today was the worst experience I’ve had thus far. I’d expect better quality controll in a mon and pop setting. Ordered a fish burger to go for something different today. Literally a piece of fish the 1/3rd of the size of the bun and 1/2 piece of a blade lettuce so this is the saddest thing I’ve seen Never would I expect this from jacks.
Gotta try the Mint Chip Jack Frost Ice Cream love it ! Definetly a landmark to visit in Spruce Grove, Alberta ! Enjoy
Great place to stop after being at the lake for yummy burgers and ice cold treats. This is summer!
Jack's has been there for decades. It used to be a rocking little place to go. We drive from Edmonton to Spruce Grove to enjoy the experience. Well what used to be a cool experience. I am not sure what has changed since the new ownership took over. Maybe it was that the previous owner was engaged with the customers. That engagement made such a difference in the experience. It still has pretty good burgers and shakes but it just doesn't have the same atmosphere.
Fries soggy and tasteless, onion rings bland, burger cold and bland. Gravy almost tasted like it was in the late 1980’s but just didn’t have it.
Drove in for supper last night, seen the January specials and decided to have the 3 piece chicken dinner. It’s supposed to come with gravy, coleslaw and a pop. What I got was 3 chicken strips, dry fries and a small fountain pop and 1 pack of ketchup and 20 napkins for 16.78!? Chicken strips were hot, fries were warm.
Great ice cream and fries. Super tasty gravy. But the salsa burger has been better. I miss the old salsa, and didn't get asked if I wanted jalapeños this time.Food: 4/5
Have you seen the movie 'The Menu' where the world renowned chef promised to make Margot a burger that would evoke memories of the first cheeseburger she ever had? I imagine that cheeseburger tasted just like one from Jack's Drive in. Truly the greatest burger you will ever eat, and you don't even need to travel to an island and experience all sorts of trauma to get it. Kid-friendliness: The kids meal here is cheaper than a happy meal
We stopped here on all our trips from northern Alberta to Calgary from 1964 to 1980. I returned May 1/21 to share an experience back in time with my daughter as we were traveling by. We were pleasantly surprised by the good burgers, copius amount of fries and the best icecream milkshake. I might request a toasted burger bun to match my memories of those from years ago on my next trip. Congrats to the family running this joint since 1961.
