Ivy Social Club

Oh god. This place is horrible. Nothing but attitude and old ugly cougars that think they're still 21. I'll go downtown over this dump any day.

Visited the club for the first time on Saturday night Dec.15 and will not return. Lets start with the positives: the decor, the ambiance, the lights, the environment, and the staff were great, no complaints there. The music though, absolutely atrocious. We arrived at around 10:15pm, standing around for 30 minutes, we asked the DJ to play something that we can dance to, he just ignored our request, the dance floor was empty. Even at around 12am, the mixing of the music was horrible, so much dead air between songs, just constant beats, the music choice was poor and I noticed many people making requests, DJ simply did not seem to care or really know how to mix music and cater to the crowd. After spending 2 hours, our group of 8 left very disappointed!

Had my birthday party here and absolutely loved it! Great service, great music and I love that it’s more mature crowd.

I don’t normally write bad reviews but I made the mistake of going to this club at 10:15pm. This club is beautiful, and spacious with extremely high ceilings. The staff are friendly and attentive. By all accounts it could be a really great night club... one that could create an unforgettable visitor experience. However, there is one major problem - the music! The resident DJ B & A productions does a number on you if you happen to get there before 12:00am. He plays what I would consider good music when the club opens at 10pm until maybe 10:30, then plays fast-paced undancable music until 12:00-12:30am to force you to stand around and presumably buy drinks at the bar. It is only around 12:30am that things start to turn around with good music, and people start dancing. This is a typical strategy of DJs of the past, and has no place in this day and age. No wonder they have to entice people to come to the club by offering free admission to women before 11:30am. Perhaps if the management focused more on a better music strategy, they could create a better user experience, and ultimately get higher ratings on social media. If you are considering going to this club, don’t get there before 12:30am.

Went to this club on a Friday night with my buddies and had a great time. Music was very good varied Top 40,, Latin, House, Hip/Hop and more. Place is well decorated and has a good atmosphere. The washrooms are small for the size of the place. The only thing negative about this place is the space; it could be bugger for the amount of people there. Overall a fun place to go clubbing.

Wanted to give it no stars! It was a disappointment to have such a horrible experience for the first time visiting. Imaging jumping into a cab and the driver refused to take you as your ride is too short for them. This was the same feeling for ordering water at the club and being ignored a handful of times. We had ordered drinks many rounds, gave a generous tip to the other server and even tipped the washroom girl. For us to have that negative experience it ruined our night.

We purchased tickets to go see Stevie B on a cold February night and due to their poor planning sold more tickets than the place can hold....they had told everyone that they were going to make it right by doing two shows one at 10 and one at midnight so they can accommodate everyone. We booked the midnight show and showed up at around 10:15 pm after a long two hour drive because we live up north, only to learn after two and a half hours waiting outside in the cold, they did not clear the building to accommodate for the second show. They were letting a lot of people bypass the line and ticket holders because those people knew either the owner or someone that worked in there. Ticket holders were waiting outside and rejected with a refund after two and even three cold hours of waiting outside. I would not recommend anyone going to any of the events held at this building as I and many others experienced the unjust treatment of waiting and being turned away due to their lack of poor planning that the posted on their instagram page.

Beautiful place with a few negatives. 1. Bouncers are rude and arrogant. 2. Lots of wannabes. 3. Must have collared shirt to get in. Apart from this the place has great music and a really great mixed crowd of young and old. Good place to meet cougars.

Had an amazing experience at Ivy Social Club. Staff, bartenders, bathroom attendant and bottle service attendants were super professional and courteous. Had no problems with anyone especially liked that it's 25+ and the variety of music was refreshing. Will definitely be back!

This club has so much potential. Beautiful interior, big bar and a convenient location for people who live in the northern part of the GTA and don’t want to go downtown. Unfortunately, The whole vibe is ruined by the weakest link: the DJ! I have never encountered a more stuck-up, “faux-artsy”, out of touch club DJ in my life. He plays undanceable music for the first 2 hours the club is open, stretching every song to 10 minutes and mixing everything to the same lame beat. He spreads good songs apart like they cost him extra! Apparently this is done to increase sales at the bar. Well, by midnight, my group and I had had enough and we walked out, taking our coin with us. Please get a new DJ who will work to please the crowd, and not himself, ASAP.
