It often smells weird everywhere in the market, right now half the store is closed since there was a problem with the fridge. I bought donuts two days ago but there was some mold on them even though they were still good for a few days. I went back to get my money back but they didn't want to reimburse me since I didn't have a receipt
24 hr downtown specialty grocery market with prepared dishes, a cafe and pastry counter, and fresh produce. I really enjoyed this place. There are a couple tables to sit at in the back if you just want a drink and to read the paper.
You paid high price the meat, the water bottle and so on . Once at the cash register I must fill my own grocery in the bags that I bought from them . They must not pay their employees adequately. So the service is a big zero and the food is expensive. Why not going else where for cheeper food and better service ....
The convenience factor of being open 24/7 is pretty big, and when there are specials the prices can get decent so keep an eye out for sales. The selection of meat is decent and better priced than you would expect by looking at the rest of the store. The rest of the store is very overpriced. Easily more expensive than Metro and Provigo, which are already more expensive than Supermarche PA or Segal's. If you really need something at 11:30 PM, it's nice to have around, but this is not a "weekly grocery run" kind of place. However, I don't know if it's some kind of company rule or something, but the employees almost always refuse to respond in English even when you address them in English. This is disrespectful considering the location serves many McGill students and immigrants and the fact that Montreal is a bilingual city. Also, for the past few months, there has been this HORRIBLE nauseating smell in the store. I've seen them clear out the freezers a few times so maybe there's a problem with that, but I go less frequently because of how disgusting the smell is. I hope they fix these issues soon!
Quite pricey for regular items, but this place can save your ass when you need something late at night. It's open 24 hours which can be quite convenient. A lot of their pre-made food did not look appetizing enough for me to want to buy, unfortunately. 4 stars because of the priciness.
Love that they have the CIBC, because it's my bank! They have all the good selection, but limited wine choice. Good beer choice. Fruit & veg are fresh, food is generally good. Make sure it's fresh tho, I did come across a rotten bag of naan bread. There is not a lot of sales, and some items remain pricey.
This is such a convenient spot for a grocery store. But since this was taken over from the original Four Brothers, the prices have gone up and I find the manager to be sullen, borderline rude, and not very friendly. Why should I spend my money where I am not treated like a valuable customer.
I worked at this place for a shift from 8-5 with a 1h break. The next day I announced that I’d gotten another job elsewhere, so I signed all the forms necessary for them to send me the pay required for one shift. I’ve been waiting an entire month because the manager had been lazy and careless. When I called he had a rude tone and told me I had to wait another 2 weeks without apologizing or explaining, as if he doesn’t owe me money or anything.
Has discounted groceries for a buck a pack and usually many good deals in the flyer. The ppl who work there whom I have encountered are also friendly. Been coming here for a decade even before their renovation.
Overpriced. Angry staff. The dude who looks at you like you're trying to rob the place is actually quite nice but the cashiers will treat you like you just killed a small animal. They used to make party sandwiches at the deli but they don't anymore.
