Metro Lebel Mont-Royal

I've been shopping here for years and have never had a problem but I was recently physically blocked from leaving the store until I showed them the inside of my backpack. I asked them why, they said they had no evidence I did anything wrong, and then claimed it was "the law" that I had to open my bag for them. They only let me leave after I asked them to call the police, and gave them my name, address and phone number. I have no idea if this a new policy, or an overzealous employee, but I can't imagine shopping in a place like this again. The idea that I might have to give random employees my address and phone number whenever they ask, just because I have a bag with me, is a little too scary.

Online ordering is often unreliable for accurate reporting of available stock. They recently installed self-serve checkouts which make the lines go much faster and it's great for introverts.

Today a very rude employee stopped me as I was leaving because I did not purchase anything out of stock of what I was looking for and insisted on checking my bags. I had groceries from another store none of the products in my tote bag were packaged like they do at metro, I showed her my receipt for the items I had in my bag and when she saw i had purchased more from the other store than what was visible in my tote bag, she made me open my backpack. This was completely unnecessary and I truly cannot think of her reasoning other than to humiliate me. After this encounter I will never return, thankfully there are plenty of other grocery options in the area that don’t treat customers like suspects.

Nice clean grocery store. A little more expansive than the other places around.

It's ok, it is the bigger metro in my area. Usually a good selection of items. They just changed a few of the items location a two weeks back. They updated their cashiers to self serve which can be nice. Nothing else to report.

Big grocery, you can find pretty much anything you want, has pre-made meals too, also has quite a descent choice of local beer section too

The store is big and offers all sorts of options. They have a bottle recycling machine as well as a bakery, butcher and ready-to-go counter. At the counter you can also find some meals that can be eaten cold or hot to go. They offer quite a few options of brands for each articles. The prices can vary, this is definitely more of a medium to high budget store. You might be able to find some good deals on the lower budget but don't expect to go out with a big haul. I enjoy the cleanliness and availability of products.

Some products are very pricey. Wide variety of cheese and and items for a good apéro.

Clean and well stocked. Management attentive.

Generally very clean and the workers are usually polite and welcoming. Its location means the store is a bit cramped and they don't have as big a selection, but at least they have smooth supply chains with their produce suppliers and service with a smile.
