Biriyani was mediocre sadly. Had good expectations. Chicken bone pieces had very less flesh and that hindered the experience. There was a need for more rice in terms of quantity. For the price we think quantity should have been better in general. This is the family size we are talking about but was kind of disappointed.
So happy to finally have a restaurant offering authentic South Indian flavours in the neighbourhood! Reasonable prices, generous portions, fresh food, and friendly & helpful staff. Their biryanis are great, but you must also try their guthi vankaya eggplant! Can't go wrong with their chili chicken pictured top, Andhra chicken curry, or any dishes with monagadi sauce paneer is an excellent option. Just tried the egg pulusu pictured bottom left. Never seen this dish before but will certainly consider ordering it again — very flavourful! For those who are sensitive to heat, you might want to have some raita on the side. I consider myself to have a medium spice tolerance and so far everything I've ordered has been prepared with the perfect amount of heat for me. Love this place and hope to keep coming back! Definitely recommend.
Came in for a quick bite to eat. Grabbed 2 vegetarian samosas. Delicious. Very aromatic. Cooked fresh. Perhaps a weekend lunch for one special would be something to consider.
This restaurant has a large variety of dishes to choose from. Which can get a little overwhelming. Though all of which are absolutely delicious. Some of the dishes I would recommend would be the Goat Biryani, and Chicken Monagadi and Chicken 65. Last week they newly introduced the Chicken/Goat Vindaloo. And that is by far the tastiest dish I have eaten here. The Chef really knows how to bring out the flavours in his dishes, which is very rare to find in Indian restaurants in Toronto. The dishes are also available in various sizes and is priced reasonably. Apart from the food, this restaurant has recently introduced Asian snacks and spices which is not easily available in our locality and saves me the time traveling up north to get them. They don't have a huge collection yet. Though they are still working on adding to their inventory. All in all, a great restaurant, and super friendly staff.
Would rate it 3.5 Takeout Biryani and Chilli chicken both of which were good in taste. Taking off stars due to the service. The person who took the order was friendly and helpful, however we specifically asked that disposable cutlery be provided. Was well assured twice on the call that along with cutlery there will be plates too. We were provided neither, and were only able to eat the food 1.5hrs later
An underappreciated gem! Seriously, the folks at Hyderabad Spices run a good operation. I like how their menu is consistently getting tweaked and adjusted. I like how their dishes include the classics, but also some creative alternatives. I'm so glad Hyderabad has succeeded, and congrats on your renovations. I hope this means I will continue to get my favorite things very conveniently. Parking: There is also a "Green P" about 50 meters to the East next to Pizza Pizza. There is a single "delivery" spot in the alley behind the Condo, but don't count on it being available.
Had a wonderful experience. The biryani was too tasty especially the Vijaywada special biryani and the quantity was also good. It feels nice when we get to eat South Indian food and I am so happy because Hyderabad spices are offering the South Indian styles.
This restaurant is a hidden gem. Delicious Indian food that tastes really authentic and fresh. I had the Aloo Gobi and the Biryani and both were amazing. Not to mention, the homemade garlic naan with roasted garlic is insane. New fave Indian restaurant. Thank you Hyderabad!
this was such a great find! As someone from south India, I was looking for some Indian food that tasted good and this place was just great taste and price wise. I got the idli set which was a great deal and such a steal for the price!! Also, I got the chicken vindaloo which was delicious and spicy and garlic naan which was a classic dish. Hyderabad spices definitely didn’t disappoint and the people there were so warm and welcoming! I’d definitely go again! Coconut chutney is great!
We went here today for our Iftar and it was an amazing experience. The quality of food was remarkable; we got the chicken vindaloo and the idli sambar which I thought was a great deal for 6-7$. The chicken vindaloo was tasteful and spicy, just as we love it! The idli sambar was amazing and it was provided with tomato ? and coconut chutneys. The customer service was exceptional, we were greeted as we walked in and he took our order and was very patient with us while ordering. After we had eaten a bit, he came and checked up on us and asked us if we liked the food and I thought that was so sweet. As the prices are affordable and the food quality is splendid, I’d recommend everyone visit this place as I had a great meal here!
