The place is not easy to notice even if you are driving down Albion road. We went on a Saturday evening, they didn't have a few of dosa options which was written on daily specials board. They had a thali option which would have taken minimum 25 minutes to prepare, and not worth the wait. The waiter couldn't explain the available food option properly as well. It was a hard time, to order the food we liked to try. Eventually we ordered a few dosas from what ever was available that night, which was kind of forced to choose. Finally it took 20 odd minutes for the dosa to be prepared and the sambar was not good . The only good part was dosa was edible and the portion was decent. The atmosphere of the venue is not promising as well. Won't go back again ! There are better places through out Toronto to taste better dosa . Do save your money and time !!
The restaurant did not have any fan or air conditioning on at the time of my visit. In fact, the outside temperature 20 degrees Celsius was lower than the interior of the restaurant. The inside felt hot! Moreover, the restaurant had a bad smell that could be sensed immediately as you open the front door. What made it worse that there were flies roaming around; it got irritating really quickly. Overall, the ambience was poor as well. The general decor was subpar. Cancelled the order because I couldn't stand being in there; thus cannot comment on the food but overall I recommend that you find another restaurant. This one will surely disappoint.
Good south Indian food, with a fairly large selection of dishes. Their dosa are good and the potato fillings are tasty. They also come with 4 different dipping "sauces". We also finished our meal with some Masala chai - good stuff! Prices are very reasonable. Unfortunately our dosa arrived cold, but I'm willing to give this place the benefits of doubt that it was a win off.
No matter what others say. You have to try out your self. My experience they took 15 minutes to serve 'Desi Masala Dosa'. Excellent dosa & sambar. I liked their coconut & corriander sauce. Extra sambar & sauce at no cost. Very reasonable price compared to other places. Full service.
Worst place to eat. Ambiance will make you puke and the place needs serious make over and pest control. They screwed my Sunday. It took 20 minutes to take my order though we were the only customers they were serving at that time. Half the items in the menu are said to be "SOLD OUT". Rest of the items were stale and stinky. It took around 45 minutes to prepare couple of dosas. Utter disappointment. The chutney which came along with dosa was very bad, it was made couple of days back. They gave only 4 tissue papers, when we asked for extra, the guy gave a look as if we are asking his blood. Sick place. Beware. Save your health from this stinky place. PS: after googling a bit, i came to know this place was once shut by health and safety for infestation.
It's a cross between a north and south Indian food. Neither south Indian nor North Indian food is edible. Worst Indian food in Canada.. There was not one dish that was worth eating. Dosa's specially were the worst. Thali is extremely tasteless. Food is not worth the money. We have been there several times and every time we decide not to come again.
My wife and I just went there to give this place a try I've lived in this area for the past 25 years but for some reason have never stumbled across this place. This place is a hidden gem!! The food was simply amazing and delicious. The sambar vada was simply impeccable! We recommend this place to anybody in the area much better than Madras Dosa Hut by miles!
Worst south indian food ever! Worst on chutneys and sambhaar.Rasam was a disaster! I guess it was a water with dal and almost no spice to it! Dosa were over fermented and over cooked too..tasted weird! Their crazy masala made us really crazy coz it was salty and cheesy, hated it! I prefer i cannot even make it a choice if i m left with no choice!! Waiting time ends after you start loosing your patience.
The place is a simple seating and not very busy but the food is amazing and flavorful. I love their Masala Dosa and Idli Saambar. The prices are very reasonable. If you want pick up the food call them 15-20 mins before....
Dosa is Good!. I havnt tried their curries yet. 5 dollar hydarabadi dum biryani-CAUTION. I should have thought of it before even buying that hydarabadi dum biryani can't come in 5 bucks. It's horrible! Just ate two spoons and had to throw it away... but a good place for dosa and other south indian snacks for a reasonable price.
