My friend recommended this place to me to try out so I went here for the first time. I tried my hands on bouldering, the facility and staff were great. As a first timer I was given an introduction on safety, climbing techniques and the different level colours represented. Other climbers around were very encouraging and helpful, I was very happy to complete 4 climbs for my very first time being there. The price for a day pass and rental shoes were fare especially knowing that you can leave and comeback within the day. I would definitely comeback to climb again and Ive already recommended Hub Climbing to my friends and would recommend it to anyone looking to try the sport out.
wouldn’t come here as a beginner or at all boulder parc is superior. the fall mats are horribly stiff; not great to fall on especially when all the climbs are so high. way easier than other parks.nnthey’re all simple climbs that just go up, nothing challenging that make you really use your brain. it really is just a staircase in the form of a boulder climb. all the V2-3’s are really just v0’s but with more height. everything is just high…again, the mats were excruciating to fall on. maybe boulder parc spoilt me with how soft the mats were def didnnno sitting space…unless you count the fall mats which everyone was laying on whilst you climb…which is dangerous no wonder their waivers are so long. not enough storage place, too many children with little to no social etiquette, crazy crowded, lots of people hogging walls. again the kids with no supervision walking all over everywhere. it’s a literal daycare, it was a horrible experience. i wish i knew the main audience was to be middle school children, i would’ve spent my $30+ elsewhere.nnlet them know that’s my boulder shoe size was 8, they gave me a size 9 despite what i said. told them they were too big, they replied saying “no, we run small”. they physically were too big. minor inconvenience, had to do a short back n forth to get my size. size 9 was just NOT my size….just give me my size; listen to your customers.nnall the responses from the owner are defensive, showing lack of accountability, referring to supposed cctv…that’s embarrassing. better not be mentioning cctv w me, it’s been too long to know
Fun indoor activity for the whole family. Staff are great. Tip if you are with kids and not climbing bring indoor slippers as not socks or bare feet are allowed on the mats and indoor shoes are not allowed.
Had an event here and it was a fun experience. Parking was limited and hard to find, although there was Tim Hortons within walking distance next door. Our check-in was also a bit chaotic, we spent a good 30mins just trying to sort out what's happening and waiting for instructors for our group. Not sure if it was due to the summer kids camp and summer break busyness. The staff were very nice and helpful once we started climbing.
I've been a member at hub for almost two years now and I have to say I really enjoy the variety of routes and difficulty available as a mainly autobelay climber. I enjoy the support and attitude of the regular members there too, and it's easy to see the mutual respect between them and the staff. As a fairly newer climber, it's nice to be in a judge free environment where so many members are willing to give their advice when asked. The staff do a great job at trying to keep climbers accountable in upholding the safety rules that in place, and are quick to act when it comes to safety concerns. An excellent example is when there are unruly climbers that consistently ignore the safety rules despite all their warnings who need to eventually be escorted out of the gym. With such actions, I appreciate that the staff are trying their best to keep their members in mind when it comes to safety and experience. Overall a wonderful gym for friends and family!
