Howard Johnson Express Inn - Roseburg

What a lovely little hotel! The proprietors of this property are exceptionally hospitable and really made our stay comfortable in a homey sort of way. Breakfast was lovely, though not fancy. Great Chinese restaurant right next door.

New owners are Great! Its quiet and very friendly. When choosing a place to stay on my travels I ALWAYS read the reviews. Now, I havnt stayed here in a few months so I wanted to see if my review of this place were still accurate, After a few minutes online, I found that my assumptions are still true. I find it laughable that one person chose to write an incredibly negative comment about this place. This is not the case. As with anything else you have to see for yourself to make a solid decision and I truly hope that others don’t see that review and base their decision off of that. The people that run this hotel are genuine and good hearted people. Very professional and friendly. The rooms are GREAT! just what you would expect for a stay on the road, comfortable and quiet. The morning breakfast is the best part. Management makes it a POINT to share the new day with you by coming out and tending to any needs or requests you have. It’s like being back at Mom’s House!!!!! Who wouldn’t love to have one more wonderful wake up with their mom? I hope that someone out there reads this and can share the experience that I had. You will enjoy your stay, and be thankful for this review. God Bless !!!!!!!

Stayed with a friend and wasn’t impressed at all. Manager was rude when we checked in. The room didn’t even look like there was much effort in cleaning. The bed spread was stained as well as the towels. We housekeeping knocked on door they asked if we needed anything. I told them we needed trash bad, towels and sheets. They said I wasn’t a long term stayovers and didn’t get clean sheets. I looked into the staff they had working they have a bunch of felons with extensive criminal history that just piles up working for them. One is a registered sex offender. Overall I would NEVER stay at this place again. The managers are not helpful or professional. They said they don’t get paid enough to care

I travel alot, so its crucial to a find good place to relax, recharge, and have a home base. Howard Johnson's differ from each other greatly, depending on the management, so when i do find a good one, i keep to it. The one in Roseburg, OR, is everything i want from a motel; clean, quiet, and safe. the staff here are excellent! friendly and knowledgeable, they are eager to go the extra mile to make sure i am comfortable and have what i need. this level of service is rare in a motel at this price range, and i feel this is a seriously good find. Ive seen how other HJ's operate, and few have such good management and staff. I seek out the ones that do, and these particular people who run the operation here in Roseburg are the reason i will return.

Booked a 15 day stay here for a quiet crafting and relaxing retreat; still here ~9 days later (too lazy, can't move). This place needs some renovations. The staff needs an attitude renovation too. A wolf can't say exactly how they were rude, but the staff has been a rude to my bae on multiple occasions. When he checked us in, he was just trying to warn the staff that I'm socially anxious, an autist, we are both very private people, and don't like to be disturbed by housekeeping. A wolf doesn't know in what world sheets are ruined if not changed every other day, but it sounds like one that hates preserving water. Huehuehue. Wolf must admit to accidentally throwing the breaker for my room a few times with a faulty plug, however that only happened on the one day and I stopped trying to use the thing once realized the problem. It appears that power to my room was off for ~6 hours for no obvious reason a few days later. Both the clocks that were plugged in got reset??? I'd really like if 'see front desk' for ice wasn't a thing. A wolf hasn't actually seen front desk for ice, so it doesn't even what the solution. Lol. (Nevermind. They fixed the ice machine at some point. A wolf is just too scared of going outside to have seen it. Lol) The walls are thin. I heard a sex happen and it was too kinky for me... so, I turned on the TV to drown out the moans and the only buttons I could get to work were the volume, mute, and power. I couldn't get it loud enough. The Weather Channel is default station on the TV. No amount of meteorological data whirlwinding into my ears could block out the rhythmic bumping of those uglies. I needed to change the channel. I frantically mashed my fingers against all the buttons while flailing throughout the room. Nothing happened. After a couple minutes I was about the fling the damn remote at the worthless TV. I wound up my arm and... just barely didn't fling it. It almost slipped away like so many things were slipping next door, but in hand it stayed and on the screen in front of me was "--7". The remote worked. In that one spot. Only. That. Spot. Nowhere else. Coffee pot was dirty and the fridger needs defrosting. Whine, whine, whine, and complain. A wolfie is spoiled and this location did not meet expectations for the price. Oh.. um... The breakfast was nice. It's not a wide spread, but it's a yummy tummy filling breakfast. Wolves love breakfast and hope the pancake machine gets fixed/replaced eventually. ;3
