Terrible food, sometimes inedible. Terrible staff. Expensive for what I got. Atmosphere is decent. Tables are unclean but not always a mess. The only good thing great about them is the location within UofT is prime. Would not recommend for food unless you really need to grab a quick one on campus.
Fung supplies decent food for students. Yes it’s a little expensive, and no it’s not great but they give us food so its better than nothing. There are some really nice workers though that bring a positive vibe to the dining hall on a daily basis. If you know you know who I’m talking about…
Really expensive food that I would not be getting if I hadn't already paid for a meal plan. The quality is always either really tasty or really awful. Only eat here if you have the university college meal plan. Otherwise treat yourself to something that costs less than $20 and head downtown a bit and get some really good food.
As a student, I was forced into a $2000, compulsory meal plan to last me 4 months. It is/was incredibly expensive-and the amount paid for each meal did not speak for the quality, or the quantity of the food at all. The fries and side dishes were drenched in grease, the salads + pastries were stale and kept out all day, exposed to germs and oxidation. Salads had cross contamination with dairy, eggs and gluten 24/7. Meager selection of fruits oranges sometimes, otherwise bananas, apples only & unhealthy drinks energy drinks, sodas, etc were mainly available. The sushi was old, and I had gotten rotten pieces on 3 separate occasions. The options for someone who is vegan + gluten free not by choice, were atrocious. They offered me gluten free bread, but did not have any gluten free + vegan meat substitutes, spreads, no soup options, no salad dressings, or cereals or milks that I could use there only buy cartons for $8/L. I had to request accommodation for my meals in which I had to call ahead of time every day to get 1 dish a day prepared for me. I ended up in the hospital once due to cross contamination & I would sometimes just get a filled up container of just corn or rice and sent on my way. After i filed a complaint, they were less careless with my food, and it did get a bit better. Staff were either really friendly, or really rude. Also no biodegradable/plastic free options for utensils and carry out containers.
Overpriced, inconvenient hours of operation, you get sick of the food by 2nd semester. To be fair, a lot of it is quite good but definitely not worth the price. Most of the staff is quite nice to talk to, but there are staff that are quite nasty towards customers. The waffles on weekends are awesome. Not enough vegan/vegetarian options most days. Unless you want to eat salad all the time.
You know what despite all the shade, the grill's not bad and the hot food station is decent at times. Just pretty overpriced lol; things are like restaurant pricing. Breakfast can be bland at times, and they don't leave the Tabasco and Sriracha out to solve your problems.
Found this big bug in my meal one time. This was in the middle of the semester .... and since I didn’t want to starve I had to continue eating from this gross place. Fung sucks - there’s almost no options if you’re vegan or vegetarian - I ate toast, wraps and old veggie sushi 99.9% of the time and it was honestly the worst 0/10 would recommend unless you want food poisoning
Please stay away as the food is horrid. The vegetables are stale, the salad is stale, the pastries are old, dry and stale and half of the entrees come with a liter of oil on the side. The price absolutely does not match the quality. If you want a taste of prison food without going to prison, this is the place.
Wouldn't let me watch the hurling. Only thing on the menu was something called "Grease Galore" which was a combination of minced meat, chips and cheese. Apparently it's inspired my "Chef Dan's recipe from the old country." It's disgusting. Wouldn't let me watch the hurling. I also find it really weird that "Mr Barry" from the nearby Graduate House us allowed to enforce his "no shoes, no socks" policy. Is this in place all over U of T? They wouldn't let me watch the hurling. Bike got stolen from the kitchen as well. Not good.
Food is mid-high price: ~$10-12 for a moderate portion. Quality is alright, there's a rotating menu plus fries + grill, noodle bowls. pretty standard residence hall cafeteria, accepts cash + credit also.
