A Toronto Institution, great home-made food, $6 Micro-Brewery pints, original music nightly, & an Authentic Jewish Dairy & Fish Sunday Buffet Brunch.

Story

For over 30 years, the Free Times Cafe has been a staple on the Toronto roots music scene, with nightly live music showcasing some the best folk and acoustic artists in the city.

In addition a diverse menu of Jewish, Middle Eastern, and Canadian dishes, we also serve up daily market-fresh specials, and are famous for the traditional Jewish fish and dairy buffet on Sundays.

In my family, my mum makes the best matzo ball soup and my aunt makes the best brisket but since I couldn't go home for the holidays this year, Free Times Café is a close second! Definitely going back for passover
Great food and live music once again, a friend performing.
Extremely friendly staff. Very covid aware and felt safe sitting on the outside patio for a glass of mulled wine yesterday. Tried their latka brisket burger and it was pretty fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and the bathroom felt extremely clean and sanitized.
Food was really good and we also liked the service. Try the vegan wrap. 5 stars for that!
Enjoyed the Bella’s breakfast combo. The Katie’s and blintzes were amazing. I’m definitely going back for those. Our server was a cool dude who made the energy super light and fun. Will be back again!
Cozy place, good food and excellent live music!
A bit more expensive than average, but very good service and food. A lot of good options for vegans which is great. Their vegan burger is super yummy! Also had their buffet one day, and was very surprised at the number of vegan options. Also super yummy. Service is always great!
Great service. Ambiance is very nice. Food is overpriced.
