Hot Oven Bakery

This is a little slice of heaven in my neighbour hood, you can't go in here with out buying a little more then you originally intended to. The breads are soft and delicious and the sweets treats make you feel like home. A little tip try the Empire cookies, these are my absolute fav and they remind me of with my great grandmother use to make them.

Quite delicious assortment! I love their steak and kidney pies, as well as cherry and pecan tarts. Occasionally the pastries such as natas custard tarts didn't taste too fresh (crust seemed very hard), I wonder if perhaps they were leftovers from the night before.

The Hot Oven Bakery was my go-to place to chill on a late Sunday morning or early Sunday afternoon in the west end. They serve both sweet and savoury. The best cake to bring to a party: Orange Chiffon. The best pie on the menu: Blueberry. The best cookie: Double Chocolate Chunk.

Standard quality goods; nothing special. Very expensive cookies. They're usually out of the standard baked goods by like 3pm. No pumpernickel bread, nor are they willing to make it. When you're lucky enough to find them with a loaf that you want, you can get it cut thick or thin, so there's that. Just go to a grocery store: Cheaper, better stock, usually better hours.

Super friendly staff and the selection is really good(: location is convenient too, great place to study+eat after school if you go to ba or eci
