About

The Detroit Sportsmen's Congress has a 131 acre campground located near Oxford, Michigan. Seasonal operation opening April 1 and closing October 31.

Story

The campgrounds is nestled in a scenic northern Michigan setting on the 30 acre pristine Horseshoe Lake for your camping, swimming, and fishing enjoyment. Offered are 190 campsites with water and electrical (up to 50 amp service), showers, restrooms, and a dumping station. Campground features include a baseball field, playground, basketball court, miniature golf center, horseshoe pits, and seasonal fishing derbies. The Campground Pavilion is the place for parties and informal gatherings. Fun filled Holiday weekends with dances that are held in the pavilion. Youth games, bocci ball and horseshoe tournaments are all part of the festivities and fun. Day use of the picnic area on the lake and all the facilities are also available to all members of the DSC.

A quiet and peaceful retreat. Has an up north feel without the travel time. Everyone is very welcoming and warm.
Great place for family camping. Tons of stuff to do. Animals allowed. Friendly people. Clean facilities. Clean lake for swimming. Great lake for fishing. Only downfall is no full hook ups and they don't really have a stocked store. There is a meijer down the road though. No wifi either but ŵho really needs wifi YOU'RE CAMPING. Great place to rustic camp with a tent too. Really great place if you have kids too. TONS OF KIDS.
Awesome campground, roughly 1 hour north of Detroit. Great lots, amazing people, and full of fun activities.

Beautiful Campground. Friendly and accommodating. Great family getaway while being close to home.
I am a DSC member and keep my RV there all year long except when I want to go elsewhere. I keep my same lot. Nice beach on the lake! No gas motors allowed on the lake. They have row boats, canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats to rent. There are a lot of activities to participate in too!
I wish I had a better spot
Was a great place, friendly staff. Everything was very reasonably priced and the lake was pretty decent size. Had a little bird friend next to our campsite that kept us company. She didn't like us being right next to her nest though lol.
Arrived on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Campground was very full. The man in charge led me to our spot and helped me back our trailer in. Lot of things to do. Great place for kids.
If you've had difficulty in enjoying g a relaxing time away from it all look ni further. The camp Manager, Bill 12, is hands down a great person and he will do what is in his power to help you if you need it. I camped there for near 3 years until my profession took me to Florida. He is the reason I give this place 5 stars, and none other. I work on the road mostly, and while I was away he helped me get 5 new tires for my camper, and repair the camper breaks. That's a good man! Someone willing to break the mild and help you out when you need it. Thanks Bill 12, I will never forget your kindness and awesomeness. GO ARMY!!!
