Hoot Owl Hollow Campground

We went here for the first time last week. There were a lot of open sites but we were put in one of the worst ones. The pic nic table was warped. A dead tree and the sewer was so high out of the ground we couldn't use it because you wouldn't have proper flow. We had to dump before we left by backing up to it. The site next to us had nice grass shade tree and a better table. But the worst were their rules. Fires out at midnight. Can't use anything to start them like lighter fluid and if you have people at your site enjoying a fire they must leave by 10 pm. So needless to say we won't be back. If I was looking for a retirement home maybe but it's camping and I'd like to be able to stay up past midnight. Oh a bad storm came sirens going off and no one came around to tell us where to go for shelter.

2nd year staying here over the 4th of July. You don't know what site you're at until you arrive despite making reservations weeks in advance. Both times staff was here to check us in. Pool is nice. And Showers are modern. Showers & Bathrooms could use more attention - cleaning, stocking. They do not have "self-service laundry facilities" like their website claims!! The site we are on only has 30 amps so with a Class A, the breaker was constantly going out!! Way too low!!

Norm is a great, honest, helpfull man, his wife rude, mean and money hungry. Get ready for her to blow smoke in your face and laugh at you.

So far, so good. KIDS have the pool and bikes. Small and safe..campeground. beautiful west Dubuque senic roads and all the perks of town. .if needed.

Nice RV Park with a swimming pool, tent camping available as well as RV hookups for 30/50amp electric and sew connection. They have a dump site available but not sure of fee.
