Holy Cow Gelato and Donuts

The fries are awesome. The onion rings are great. The burger has my heart racing. But not because it’s delicious. My heart is suffering hypertension due to the salt. WHY IS IS THERE SO MUCH SALT ON A BURGER? Does the chef smoke 16 packs of smokes a day to deaden his ability to taste? Has no one ever told the owner how much money they would save by reducing the copious amounts of salt added? I was unable to finish my burger due to the salt. There is also the fact this these burgers are of comparable size to the average “Slider” The lighter is for a size comparison.

Beautiful branding, service and treats. Have yet to try the burgers but looking forward to them. They have creative donuts, savoury ones too, cronuts, gelato and other frozen treats. Something for special occasions or in the moment. Donut cakes are a thing here also. Chef Larissa's passion really shines here.Food: 5/5

Ok I definitely came for the savory donuts. The French onion and everything bagel donut are epic and worth the stop. The Vietnamese coffee was probably my favorite sweet one. I love that they swap the flavors regularly. Nice little spot with free parking near by.

If you have never tried savory Donuts and you wonder how they taste, this place is the place to go. Delicious! Highly recommended both the French onion and the one stuffed with cheese.

I feel so bad for giving a two stars review to a business because I am sure they must be doing their best. I had a the peanut butter and caramel ice cream and I could not eat it all due to how extremely sweet it was. And I'm not shy with ice cream, I can easily eat an entire pint in one seat but this ice cream was inedible. The donut was also not the best, but maybe because we went in the evening and it had been sitting there all day? I happened to mention this experience to other friends and they had the same opinions as us. The place is very cute tho and it has a couple of benches at the front that are ideal for summer days, but definitely not a place to be back, unfortunately.

We came for the donuts but I’m so glad we grabbed an ice cream sandwich because it was the real star. Donuts were not what I expected. Flavours did not match the descriptions, were a bit dry/stale. They reminded us of bagels… I absolutely recommend the ice cream gelato?? sandwich. Gluten free available!

Very nice flavours, I’m happy that they have new flavours monthly. I love their dough as well, it’s so soft and spongy. I will definitely be back.

The good: 1. The staff was friendly and helpful. 2. The waffle cone was probably the best I have had nice and brittle and a good sugar taste. The okay / disappointing: 1. The ice cream was very loose and soft almost soft serve texture. 2. The flavour profile was a bit underwhelming. Full disclaimer, I am a Made by Marcus die hard. This place is okay. Would not discourage anyone from trying it out for themselves.

I'd give five stars to the staff, the decor, the location and the website, but the donuts I bought were really disappointing. I am a bit of a donut connoisseur so I take my donut experience very seriously. These are gorgeous to look at and they are presented well in the restaurant, but I won't be buying them again. They were dry, overcooked, and too salty. We ordered every flavour they had this month for a 2pm pick up and none of them were what I was hoping for soft, fresh, delightfully sweet. Sadly, the search for great donuts in Calgary will continue.

The doughnuts are amazing here! Really creative flavours and the savoury donuts are usually very delicious! The gelato is also deliciousalthough I don't try it as often as I do the donuts the only complaint I have is the staff really need to start warning customers about cherry pits being in any of the cherry donuts... twice now this year I have tried the sour cherry donuts, second time being just yesterday the new filled, cherry lemon curd donut that was out for sampling, and have bitten into a cherry pit while eating the donut, the first time it happened there were sharp broken shards of pit in the donut and I unknowingly bit down really hard on one of them, if it had been my friend who has sensitive teeth she could have cracked a tooth... it is dangerous to allow customers or children to be eating these donuts without being aware of hard inedible cherry pits in them... they need to be warned so they can chew it with caution.... I have no complaints about the taste however, the cherry donuts are delicious!
