Amaido Cafe

Cute little mochi donut shop. We pre-ordered for Christmas Eve and opted for a 6-pack variety. We tasted the gingerbread, maple bacon, matcha oreo, raspberry rose, spiced chai, and vanilla peppermint mocha. They open at 11AM and we went at 1PM and they were basically sold out all but 4 donuts left - we are thankful that we preordered. The donuts were chewy on the inside and crisp on the outside. Creative flavours! My favourite flavour was the matcha oreo .

Great little cafe spot in the heart of YYC downtown/chinatown. They serve house-made Asian-inspired Mochi donuts, ice cream, and lattes waffles and cookies on occasion! Caramel miso, matcha, and black sesame are my favourite Mochi flavoured donuts. I like the donuts warm and fresh out of the oven, so it's best to come right when they open, at 11am. They usually sell out by 4pm, so snatch a few before they're out for the day! They change their flavours every week Mondays. Love that they serve up locally roasted coffee! David Kim and Humble Coffee Roasters. Oat latte's and matcha lattes are my fave from Amaido. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown/Chinatown in an unassuming and historical building on Centre Street.

The donuts are surprisingly light and not overly sweet. The flavors are quite unique and we enjoyed all of them. Would definitely come back for more.

The mochi donuts here are awesome! The drinks are a little sweet but they are great. All the employees were very kind! The donuts and drinks came were served in no time. I recommend this place and I would definitely come again!

I was super excited to try these donuts as a result of all the photos on Instagram! They’re definitely good, but I don’t find myself craving them or finding the need to go out of my way to get them. The service is hit or miss — sometimes we have had great service, other times it felt as if we were being rushed. My friends have had their orders incorrect due to the lack of clarification when taking their orders.

Love their mochi donuts. Have to preorder to get the flavors you want or go early because they seem to sell out before 3pm.

Amaido Cafe is the new hit place for snacks!! They’re most known for their mochi donuts but they also have ice cream and drinks. I loveeeee their mochi donuts. The texture is so good I cannot stop!! They change the flavours every week which I think is awesome, so that you can try something new every time you’re there!

Excellent texture and it definitely worths for an extra couple dollars. However, they have very limited portions for donuts. Open at 11 and sold out before 2. Probably just do preorder and pick up next day. Must try.

If you haven't tried a mochi doughnut before, you are missing out on a very delicious baked good! The mochi doughnuts from Amaido have a great texture and just enough icing/toppings so they aren't too sweet. Beware: It's easy to eat more than a couple of these in one sitting.

I love the unique flavor of the mochi donut. Miso caramel is my favorite. White rabbit is awesome as well. The texture is light, airy, chewy, fluffy. Not greasy at all. Nice to see something unique in the city. 6 was not enough, next time I will have to buy a whole dozen.
