Hockley Valley Resort

Beautiful resort. I was there for a wedding. The staff were approachable, location was clean, and decorated wonderfully. Recommend. It's a little bit of a drive but the scenery made up for it.

The ambience and the staff were good. We had a conference here. My room had a great view. Unfortunately, I was kept awake at night by bugs in the room. Front desk didn't offer any recompense or apology as I checked out.

The food was fantastic, loved every meal I had there. The venue itself was very nice, but the rooms look like they could use some renovations and a fresh coat of paint. Lovely wedding venue and the staff were delightful.

I like this resort and would recommend it with one piece of advice. Be aware they include a gratuity in the restaurant bill, even with as few as four people at the table. I didn't notice this so gave a generous tip on top of their already included generous tip. The server was very nice but did not warn us or highlight our possible error. The next day the hotel would not fix it and would not make it up in any way. They turned a good stay into a disappointment. They should change their practice and let people tip what they want. Shame on them.

Well decorated common areas, facilities under the decorations feel tired. Sinks, toilets, bathtubs, beds, etc. all need major reno. Nice staff. Had buffet lunch in restaurant 85: could have had more variety. Exec loft well designed and suited for exec meetings. However, had to kill a hornet and lots of house flies that were flying around us at the board room table. Finally, bonfire setup with included smores station was pretty cool and a nice perk.
