Hill Top Motel & Restaurant

The rooms were very clean and the location couldn't be better. The motel was extremely accommodating with a very late check in. The only issues I had were the beds were extremely hard. To the point it was hard to fall asleep, and for some reason the toilet paper was not in reach of the toilet. Even my 6'1 husband couldn't reach it! Over all it was a lovely stay but I think some room upgrades would be nice

We stayed here in Aug/Sept 2024. In August we had a room on the top floor. It rained, so we didn't use the balcony. Old motel. The check in clerk was not overly friendly and we had to ask for a receipt. That room was very spacious and clean. The bed was fair.nnFor our September stay we asked for a room on the main floor. It was even more spacious, the bed was better and we were able to enjoy the balcony. The lady at the check in was very nice.nnParking was a challenge for both stays.nThe restaurant was excellent.

Good location if you are travelling and need a night's rest. Good cozy restaurant with small town hospitality, great views and good meals. Rooms were decent but could use some upgrading but nothing to complain about.

We were driving from ontario to nova scotia and took a detour for lunch. Came upon Hill Top Restaurant by chance. We had the roasted red pepper soup with smoked gouda and the grilled chicken pesto blt with fries. Absolutely amazing. The soup was the best I ever tasted and the chicken was moist and tender. Atmosphere and service superb. I with I could give it even more stars

I have no information about the rooms, as we only dined at the restaurant, which turned out to be one of the worst meals my colleague and I have ever had. After being seated for 10 minutes, the hostess finally asked for our drink orders. It was a busy night, so I understand that the waitress was not immediately available.nnWhen we asked about the beer selection, the hostess informed us that she didn’t know because she was underage and couldn't serve alcohol. We all ordered drinks, which arrived five minutes later—so far, so good. However, the waitress took another five minutes to take our food orders, meaning we placed our order 20 minutes after being seated.nnWe waited for an hour, but our food still hadn't arrived. We asked to see the waitress, but she didn’t come within the next 10 minutes, so we had to get up and wait by the kitchen to ask about our order. The waitress assured us it was coming, so we sat back down and waited another 15 minutes with no food in sight. At this point, we were ready to leave and get takeout somewhere else.nnFinally, five minutes later, the food arrived for everyone except me. I had to wait another 10 minutes for my plate, which turned out to be cold and disgusting.nnThe restaurant should consider hiring more staff during the high season. I feel bad for the overworked staff, but the experience was so poor that I recommend going elsewhere. The view is not worth it.
