Hermes Bakery

I really enjoy shopping at Hermes on Bathurst. It’s a great neighbourhood bakery with a solid selection and consistently good-quality produce. The store is clean, well organized, and easy to get in and out of, which I really appreciate.nnThe staff are friendly and helpful, and checkout is usually quick. I also like that they carry items you don’t always find at larger chain stores, which makes it feel a bit more personal and unique.

Absolutely unacceptable.nOn February 6, 2025, I discovered that products I bought were EXPIRED.nI purchased “טורטית” expired since 01.01.2025 and “עד החוצות” expired since 15.12.2024.nAfter eating the טורטית, I had severe stomach pain, which forced me to check the expiration dates.nnThis store charges very high prices yet sells expired food. I bought the items on Friday afternoon, and once I noticed the issue, it was already Shabbat, so returning or exchanging was impossible. I don’t even live in this area.nnI strongly warn others to check expiration dates carefully before buying here.

Donuts were good but customer service was atrocious. The proprietor was behind the counter helping out because it was busy. He looked right through me and then proceeded to help a frum lady like I didn’t exist. The cashier was very rude when I asked for a bag. The whole experience was so uncomfortable. You couldn’t pay me to go back there.

nHermes Bakery is the best kosher & nuts free bakery among Issac's bakery, Richmond kosher bakery and Grodzinski bakery. All staff are friendly and all fresh breads are so so delicious,and the prices are all reasonable. They give us 5% discount when you pay by cash.
