Haru Sushi

I placed an order on Skip. I didn't get my hopes up too high because I've never ordered from here before. My order came in about 45 minutes which is what Skip said it would take. And absolutely some of the best sushi I've ever had! I'm somebody who always uses soy sauce, Ginger and wasabi to boost the flavor of my sushi. I ate 24 pieces of sushi without using any condiments because the sushi was that good on its own!

Had a take out from this place today for the first time and it's definitely our last! Superstore sushi looks and tastes so much better compared to this . So please do yourself a favor and take your money somewhere else!

We took the children out for some sushi training last night. The atmosphere is very friendly and the staff makes you feel welcome right away. The food was good. We had some soup, tempura and a few rolls. It was enjoyable. The price was good. What was not pleasant was that the management doesn't seem to think training staff properly should be part of their job. The lady serving tried very hard but she was clearly never trained properly. It may even have been her first day. That's on the manager to put people on the floor with no training. We don't blame the woman. But if the establishment cared enough about its customers, they would make double sure that the customer has a good service experience.

Wow.. what an evening we had at Haru Sushi. The food was amazing. The rolls were beautifully crafted and presented. The tempura was perfectly crunchy and seasoned. The freshness of the seafood was apparent in all their dishes. The wine was paired perfectly as was the price. BUT what made the evening great was our server Jessica. She was so helpful, attentive and funny. Her service was much appreciated.

Came here for dinner as our favourite place was closed, never again. Extremely overpriced for the very below average quality. Everything was warm when sushi is meant to be cold. Sunomono was so warm and soggy and tasted like it was just noodles in pickle juice sent it back after one small bite and they still tried to make us pay for it asked for the bill and had to wait about 20 minutes to actually pay. What a great experience from walking in to enjoying the fresh delicious food. A friend and I came here never having tried it before and we were so pleasantly surprised. We arrived around 12:15 mid week and we were the only ones dining in! This is a hidden gem and the freshest sushi and sashimi i’ve ever had. The customer service was great as well! Lots of refills of tea and water, prompt service and so friendly and sweet. The prices are amazing as well! We will be returning a lot! My new go to sushi spot for sure. First time to dine in and probably the last. 1. Sushi were just average, not that good and someone here gave a review that the Superstore one is better, I think I will agree to it. 2. Service??? I would say below average, OWNER should add more servers not just only 2 serving about 12 tables not to be exact PLUS skip & etc too. And and I have to call the server 3x before I got refill for my tea “NOT GOOD”. And it also took about 20 minutes with “follow up” for 1 bowl of steamed rice “WOW”.

We’ve been eating here for many years. These days we mainly do takeout. The quality has fallen off a long way since the original days. The service is still pretty good. Recommend for a quick takeout meal, but not for a fancy occasion.

Okay where do I start, I’m not a sushi eater but the teriyaki chicken hot plate is delish. I’ve been looking for a place to take the wife for sushi that has hot plates as well and this place seems to be the only one in south Calgary. Great tempura. All around great food. We will be back.

Very disappointing dinner with poor service. Some questionable things on the menu that shouldn't be on the menu ie. Spicy Salmon Taco etc. My friend even said she thought Kinjo was better than this place which I agreed with. The flavor combinations and execution was less than mediocre. Our server never even came back to check on our table the entire meal. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be visiting again.
