Haldimand War Memorial Hospital

I visited the Haldimand War Memorial ER this past Sunday April 26, 2026 after a mountain biking accident. At 62, I was terrified this injury would end my active lifestyle, but the staff was incredible.nRebecca at triage and Ashley who is an IV pro! made me feel comfortable right away. Dr. Schweizer was thorough, clear, and helped me get a referral to a top surgeon. I also want to thank the X-ray tech for the kind banter.nNurse Lynn, amazing! Not just with me, I overheard her speaking with other patients. Her demeanor was kind, patient and caring. She is a true professional.Thank you for taking such good care of me during a scary time!nLynn, thank you also for your kind words! My wife was brought in here recently by ambulance and while the experience was unfortunate, the staff was exceptional. Everyone from the doctor, nurses and volunteers went above and beyond. I was with my wife for quite a while and a nurse offered me a water and sandwich, which was greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Came in with the flu while 13 weeks pregnant having contractions every 15 mins for 2 mins. Waited for about 2 hours in the waiting room. They took in people by order of arrival instead of severity of issue. I told him I just want to check on the baby to make sure everything is okay. Doctors didn't give me anything to help the pain until 8 hours later. Er dr. Did an ultrasound and took pictures of my pubic bone and when I told him the baby was higher he told me it's impossible. Didnt listen to me at all. Didnt try a doppler. Offered me ativan for the non existant panic attack I was having which could have sent me into preterm labour had I taken it. After 12 hour wait, finally saw a ultrasound tech and low and behold, the baby was just where I said it would be. They refused me food as well. Pregnant with the flu and refused me food for 13 hours because I was going to have an ultrasound. That is unheard of. Terrible hospitality. Don't waste your time going. That wasn't my first bad experience there either.

While the care of the Healthcare workers was very well and im thankful for the care they gave my wife. The Healthcare practice is 5 star but their logistics negtive stars if possible. My pregnant wife has had issues and needed Doctor appointments in place she gave them her phone number and updated from my phone number and when we showed up to our dr office for the appointment she had they said it was in Hamilton and they cant reschedule it and we would have to go to st catherines emergency. Making us miss 5 hours of work we could of been earning and parking fees we wouldn't of had to pay. When we asked why we were never told we were told that the hospital tried calling me multiple times which they didnt. And then pushed that issue on to my wife when I wasn't there as if it was her fault. So on top of them messing up they did not take accountability cost us a whole days wages x 2 and cost us unnecessary money put the blame on my wife and lied to us. Im supper disappointed in the unprofessionalism of this misshap and lack of accountability for a simple mistake. The actual health care received was fine at this hospital and I thank them for that but I couldnt be more pissed with them

Dr Ayoob is fine, Christina his nurse practioner is also good BUT if it's not those two DONT GO. He hired on this new girl who was basically useless. She barely looked at me, told me to talk to the surgeon, but couldn't book me an appointment, I had to call myself and when i asked for his number she wrote MY OWN NUMBER ON A PIECE OF PAPER LOL. She also refused to let me get blood work done and was trying to convince me to get two separate blood tests. We can't be letting someone like this be apart of our health care system, I wish I knew her name, short dark hair with glasses.
