Always great service and great food. The lunch specials is really where it’s at. The price and portions are next level. The Bombay Chicken and the Sweet and Sour soup with drink for $13.00 tax in is amazing. Always made fresh to order. Trust me the reviews of people on here, do no justice, this place is always the GO TO”
We though this place food would taste like the Indian Chinese, but it's nowhere near to that. They did have some Indian Chinese items but didn't taste that great. Overall food is average in comparison to Indian Chinese, we tried Singapore noodles, Bombay Friday rice. Service is good . Pricing is apt for the quantity. Ambience is good too.
For the craving of Soup we went to this restaurant. Seating was smooth. According to the server they only serve Halal and there is no Alcohol included in the food of any kind which was a treat to have. We ordered Manchow soup Chicken and Shrimp and Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce. Good thing about their serving size is good for atleast 2-3 person and it comes with a small bowl of boiled rice. Bowl of rice is only for 1 person. I ordered a bowl of rice again for taste and try. Food was fresh, tasting good. Little spicy as per my taste. Servers were kind and nice. Restrooms were nice and clean, this is also an area of my concern. All in all good place to dine in with fresh healthy food and environment.
Decided to try this place out as we were looking for a good Hakka restaurant. The staff themselves I believe are actually Hakka, which was a good sign. Unfortunately that’s where it ends. While they were all courteous and service was quick, it was evident that they adjusted their menu and dishes to cater to a broader range of clientele. They had fries on their menu. The portion size is deceiving. Each dish comes in a square bowl but is actually a lot bigger than it looks. However, the dishes aren’t priced like an Asian restaurant. Definitely on the pricier side. The chicken pakora was probably the most authentic dish that we ordered. And maybe the chilli chicken. I ordered the house special Hakka noodles thinking it’d be their best dish. But as I mentioned before, they clearly adjusted the dish to cater to a more western crowd. That is not authentic Hakka noodles. All in all, everything was pretty ok. I have no huge complaints but I won’t be dying to come back here unfortunately.
Been here twice now, food has been good and service has been good irrespective of them being fullhouse or having just few customers in. Have tried these dishes so far Triple Schezewan was good however was not spicy. We asked for spicy, but the spicy level felt mild. Dumplings were yum, enjoyed them Manchurian soup was good the regular size was good for two. Hearty bowl that would be good for winters or a cold. Good amount of ginger. Hot and sour soup was good too HL Singapore noodles had a nice curry taste and well cooked. Would like it to have more veggies added. HL Shanghai Noodles were ok didn't like it as much as the other noodles we tried Parking: Easily available in the plaza
Good quality and quantity …. Ordered Bollywood style chicken , orange shrimps ,pad Thai and Hakka noodles . Nice environment ,attentive staff . Presentation was ok….can be better …
The Hakka Legend on Battleford Road is easily my most favourite Hakka food place in Toronto. I make it a point to eat here whenever I am in this part of town. The food is great, the prices competitive, the service excellent. I am a big fan.
Absolutely have no respect for someone's time! Tried to place an order multiple times on the phone, they say they don't do take out if you are ordering for the first time, who even makes these kind of rules? At any given point of time, you will always order for the first time at a new restaurant. Long story short, so they called me to come to the restaurant and asked to pay upfront first, only then would I get my order. So I make it there and now they say that the kitchen is closed and I had made a point that I have to leave for work and can't wait. So they argue and don't give me any food even when I showed my call log. Absolutely pathetic behavior. Will never be my first time order ever after this ridiculous argument.
Good foid, ordered manchurian tiger prawn...was little spicy but comes with white rice so was perfect. Steamed dumplings were tasty too.
I've had many different Hakka in Toronto. While some are better than others and some are not good at all, this is definitely one of the better ones. We got a few different kinds of their chicken. We tried the Manchurian chicken, Manchurian fried rice, and Chile chicken. Chile chicken we got with gravy and the Manchurian we got dry. I definitely liked the dry more but the wet was still very good. Good spice levels and quality chicken pieces. Price was definitely good. I would definitely eat here again.
