Greek Islands Restaurant

One of my favourite places for Greek. Would definitely recommend this place. I've had a lot of greek food as most people probably have and this is at the top right now.

Had the platter for 2, a lot of food! Lentil soup was too salty! Service was good. Pasta is surprising good! Roast lamb was a little dry.

This was our 2nd time here. The first time, was fantastic. The calamari is really melt in your mouth! However, I told the waitress that I have a severe allergy to red peppers & that the food can't have even touched the red peppers or I will have a reaction. No problem. The first dish I get, the Mushrooms Oscar, has red pepper in it! I didn't realize & took a bite. As soon as I realized, I spat it out. Too late, my throat had started swelling & I ended up having to take benadryl. The staff were slow at best to respond appropriately to this issue. They were to take my food off the bill, not sure if they did as I didn't see the bill, it was paid by somebody else. We were out for my birthday. Some of our party had a Greek salad with their meals, it was basically cucumber & tomato chunks with one small piece of green pepper, 1 olive, 1 or 2 slivers of white onion and a tiny amount of feta cheese crumbs. Literally tiny crumbs. The salad came with some strange dressing, not traditional olive oil, lemon juice & herbs. Another one had Caesar salad & likened the dressing on that to ranch. Another one ordered a water which actually never came. The pita bread was good. The hummus was thin and watery tasting. Three of our party are Greek/of Greek descent and were quite disappointed by most of the meal. One person asked for extra tzatziki and was given maybe a tablespoon of it in a little plastic cup. Our Greek friends were mortified. The only thing everyone seemed to agree on was the meats/calamari were all very good, the rice, soup, salad and veg were anywhere from just okay to absolutely inedible and the staff dropped the ball on the red pepper issue and did not handle it satisfactorily.

I booked this venue for my husband’s 50th birthday. Service was great & food was delicious. Thank you Mike!

Loved the Greek Platter for two. The complementary mushroom soup was delicious... THe Greek salads dressing was too. Really enjoyed our platter (only complaint was the veggies seemed like frozen veggies). Great service. Nice ambiance
