Great Taste Chinese Cuisine 鄭家莊海鲜酒家

Came here for dim sum lunch around 11:45am on a Saturday. First impression: The first server who greeted us at the door told us to wait for a small table by the window as those people were about to pay and leave, then a 2nd server I think is the manager/owner came along and tried to seat us at a table for 8-10 people. Our party was only 2 adults and 1 toddler so I told her I'd rather wait for the smaller one, but she started saying there's 2 other people in line behind me and that they will get the smaller table. I informed her that we arrived first how come we can't get the smaller table first? She said because we have more people so we must get the big table. I didn't want to continue arguing so we settled for the massive round table. Food: Food came out hot and fresh, flavour was good and tasty. Didn't have any complaints regarding the taste or quality of the food at all. The steamed rice in clay pot was a pretty big portion too. Service: They were pretty busy and there's not enough servers around, it took us a while to flag a server down to grab us some hot sauce. But they do clean up pretty quickly, as soon as you finish the dim sum they come and take the empty steamers away Note: They give you the bill but you have to pay at the front counter I would definitely come back again to try other items on the menu as my family did enjoy the food even though there was a lack of service.

Came here to takeout 2 main courses for dinner last night. We ordered the Braised Beef Brisket and the Salted Egg Yolk Tiger Prawns . Both dishes were very tasty. The kids always like the deep fried rice noodles garnishes with the shrimps although they also enjoy the shrimps. The beef shank and tendon had lots of favour. They also have a 10% off promotion if the order is over $30, which is a bonus. We had to microwave a bit to warm up the dishes at home since the weather was super cold...not a problem. While I was there, I took pictures of the dim sum menu. I think they have takeout for that too but never tried...maybe next time.

I really don't know why their rating is so low! After trying 90% of the Dim Sum places in Calgary this is my favorite place! The food is always spectacular; although half the time the service isn't great. But with food this delicious I really could care less. Our favorites are the Wontons in Spicy Sauce, Pork and Pork and Crab Soup Dumplings, Chiu Chow Dumplings, Salt & Pepper Squid and so many more!

Quality has definitely gone down… Most of the dishes were not flavourful enough and the pork that they used for one of the dishes was frankly, gross. The only redeeming thing was how crispy they got the Peking duck skin to be.

I ordered a take out and was not expecting much because of the 3.7 review. The food was delicious! I ordered pork with preserved vegetable, century egg and pork stomach congee, and salt and pepper ribs. The food came still hot, the packaging was clean, and everything was neatly placed. Definitely will order from here again. Pictures were taken midway of eating.

UPDATE: We have now eaten there quite a few times and have tried many different dishes. EVERYTHING is delicious! All the staff is also super friendly. This place deserves way more than 5 stars! only 5 stars because I couldn't give more. OMG, what a gem! this is by far the best dim sum we ve had in YYC, and the freshest as well. Good size servings, no filler veggies like daikon or taro on dishes such as curry squid or beef tripe, the siu long bao were fantastic, so was the spicy wonton, and don't get me started on the spicy shredded beef and beef tripe, it was beyond this world! highly recommended!

VERY RUDE EMPLOYEES. I paid for food to enjoy and they will give you nothing but dissapoinment. Called to inform them and they talk as of they don’t understand what you’re saying and hang up on you. Goodness. Don’t go to this place if you don’t to ruin your day!! I said more sauce with my Chicken Chowmein and I had this super dry disgusting food!! I hate this place so much!!

Decent sized portions, good service. Ordered about a dozen items including some dim sum and a few mains. Hot and tasty. Will definitely be back. Easy to get to just off of 64th Ave.

Really big restaurant with a good amount of seating. Adequate parking and easy to find. Service was nice and very quick and attentive. The portions were pretty good and pricing was decently fair. The dim sum is okay, definitely left us wishing for more.
