Gourmet Sushi

Underrated hidden gem that has delicious, high-quality sushi. The portions are decent for the price and the presentation exceeded my expectations. I ordered the Salmon Dynamite roll first image and the Spicy California roll second image. I don’t have a picture of the Spicy Salmon and Avocado roll but that one was my favourite by far. I don’t think I can get takeout sushi elsewhere now because this spot made my standards sky-rocket. Can’t wait to come back!

The sushi here is on the more expensive side but it was worth it. This place is a bit more unique than other sushi places in Ottawa as they offer a bigger variety of fish and other toppings/fillings than the standard salmon and tuna. I've had better sushi rice from other places but theirs is still good. Definitely worth a try especially if you're interested in trying out fatty tuna which is rare to find in this city.

This is a crazy value takeout sushi place that is probably the best in Ottawa. The rice is properly seasoned, the sushi combos are well priced, and they use high quality seafood I got Kurodai and chutoro in my latest set order, no idea how they did it. Even the miso soup seems to have been made based on a seafood stock instead of a simple combo of dashi and Miso. It blows the limited competition that exists in Ottawa out of the water with ease. Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian roll options like cucumber, inari, avocado

Hands down the best sushi place I had in Ottawa! The ingredients are so fresh, there's great combos where you can switch out for all salmon, and it's reasonably-priced.

Super delicious sushi, fresh fish, excellent ingredient ratios, and authentic style. Salmon avo, tuna Cali, dynamite roll and spicy dynamite roll were all lovely. Will definitely be returning!Food: 5/5

This is what $236 worth of sushi looks like. Yes, feast your eyes. This is what we ordered and we were NOT disappointed in any of it. Salmon Avo Tuna Avo Spicy Salmon Spicy Butter Fish Tuna Tataki salad Miso Soup 2 x Hon Maguro 1 x Chu-Toro 1 x O-Toro 2 x Escoler 1 x Hotate Avo & Cuk Roll Gourmet Sushi Toll Twin Crispy Crunch SP Tuna Dynamite Sashimi Appetizer They are a little more pricey than other sushi places, but their portion sizes and the flavours are truly there.

The quality of the sushi here is an absolute treat! The taste and the presentation is delightful, as is the service. It's also excellent value for money. If you're looking for great taste without pretense, this is it.

Good sushi with affordable prices. The sushi presentation is really nice and there’s so many rolls to choose. Their miso soup is yummy. The only comment I have is all the rolls I ordered tasted very very similar. The torch sushi rolls and nigiri, I know when ordering through uber will probably reach to me cold but it was still enjoyable! If you are craving sushi this is definitely a good place in the byward market!

Ottawa is not known as a sushi city. However, the sushi here is excellent quality and reasonably priced. The staff are also lovely. Highly recommend!

This is without a doubt the most delicious, best priced and most beautifully presented sushi in Ottawa. We are so very grateful they chose to open their doors in our neighborhood - but if we move, we will still only buy sushi from Gourmet Sushi. This lovely Japanese family is truly a gem.
