My daughter wanted to give gymnastics a try. Signing up was pretty painless and they sell leotards in house. First session went well. It was very structured and the instructors seem very experienced as the class flowed very well. I would recommend.
Front desk staff is not friendly, rarely greet you when you come in or say goodbye when you leave. Facility isn’t very clean. The instructor for the youngest age of kids Keeley, is mousey, she doesn’t show the kids what they are supposed to be doing, just sadly sit casually, she doesn’t project her voice at all so the kids can hardly hear her, she’s on her cellphone during class and our daughter has learned more from watching the other kids than from her coach. It’s incredibly disappointing after doing lots of research and seeing the high ratings for this gym. A couple weeks back we also got a glimpse of one of the team’s coaches behavior and after that, I will absolutely NOT allow my daughter to continue on there. While our young children were sharing a space with the team, she not only disrespected our coach and her wishes but also stopped her class, literally yelled at them telling them to BUCK UP, STOP CRYING, THIS IS RIDICULOUS, IF YOU’RE GOING TO CRY WE CAN JUST BE DONE, etc. I was appalled. A, that you wouldn’t find better words to handle that with your team and B, that our young kids had to witness and hear that!
Clean, well-maintained, professional. It's been a great experience so far.
Gonyon's Gymnastics is a great place for all ages and has good instructors to help mold your child into a great gymnast. They also has traveling teams that compete around Michigan and other places. You can also subscribe to Michael Dobson 73 YouTube channel to some performance.
Great staff and program that keeps the kids involved in a wide variety of activities to keep them engaged, interested, working hard and exploring all the parts of gymnastics.
My daughter loves going to gonyons definitely recommend.
