Dropped by during lunch for a drink and snack bubble waffle. I got the milk foam oolong milk tea which was really nice. You can adjust the sweetness level and also get hot vs. cold options. I usually can't take caffeine but I was fine with this. The original waffle was pretty good! It also comes in other flavours, and can be topped with pearls. The space is so cute too see pics. Bright and nicely decorated.
Went to this place a few days ago for the first time and it has become one of my to go places to sit down for an hour or so to read a book and chill. It is a quite small bubble tea and waffle place, but it has a really cool interior design. Very cozy. The staff is friendly and teas and waffles are good as well.
expensive but finally I got to drink here! love the ambiance. there are lots of plugs so I would gladly hangout here and drink loads of milk teas! a bit expensive but bec of the ambiance I would still pay for it. they were open during Christmas while everything else was closed around them including Starbucks, Save On Foods, Tim Hortons, and Landmark. this will be my go to place here in New West now.
Gong Cha New Westminster is located at 103-900 Carnavon St. and we had the pleasure of having four of their very special Crème Brûlée drinks from the Crème de la Crème collection that is currently featured in store, Crème Brûlée Chocolate Crème Brûlée Taro Crème Brûlée Strawberry Crème Brûlée Mango Messy All four drinks are milky, creamy, and sweet just like how Crème Brûlée should taste. The chocolate and taro flavours are perfect for someone craving for more hearty drinks, while the strawberry and mango will please those who prefers refreshing fruity flavours in drinks more. Great customer service! The interior is amazing and so nice to lounge in. One of my favourite places to order bubble tea from. I have been a big fan of Gong Cha's drinks and bubble waffles. They release such a refreshing and exciting series of flavors every season. In the winter, I had the chance to try their Rose Tie Guan Yin series and this summer their Grape series is so tasty!
Love their new brown sugar series drinks! Both the brown sugar matcha latte and the brown sugar taro milk tea are rich in flavours. Getting them with pearls are a must because they add that extra texture in the drinks which made them more enjoyable. The dalgona bubble tea is also tasty and rich in coffee flavour. When you get regular sugar, it is a bit on the sweet side so if you have a sweet tooth, then this would be perfect for you!
Nicely decorated with lots of artificial plants feels modern and cozy. Staff members were very helpful in answering questions about the drinks. You will need to ask them for a key if you want to visit the washroom. You can customize ice level and sweetness. I ordered a medium milk tea with pearls with oat milk, 70% sweet with no ice. Tasted ok but overall not enough tea flavor. Maybe it was due to the oat milk or because I ordered no ice but felt a bit watered down. The bubbles were chewy and soft. May come here again if in the area but not somewhere I would crave a bubble tea from.
I tried their Strawberry Pearls Series ~$6.50+ per drink. I loved the heart shaped jelly pearls in these drinks. They’re like a denser jello, with a bouncier not chewy like pearls texture, that pairs really well in these fruity strawberry drinks. They also have star jellies available that actually look like stars, but the heart shaped jellies just look like cute red blobs. Cute aesthetic store, that is clean and comfortable to be in. Nice and friendly staff as well. Strawberry Smoothie: sort of like a strawberry flavoured slushie finely blended ice, and topped with a subtly salty milk foam. I quite liked the addition of the dense foam for the flavour balance as well as the mouth-feel texture. Strawberry Green Milk Tea: lighter tea taste in a lightly milky strawberry flavoured drink. Strawberry Green Tea: strongest tea flavour of the 2 drinks. Pretty simple, it tasted like sweet strawberries with a tea aftertaste. Bubble Waffle with Pearls: really enjoyed the chewy texture of the warm pearls inside a classic bubble waffle. I’d recommend eating it right away if you can, but you could easily pop it in the oven or air fryer to reheat if you’re ordering takeout.
This Gong Cha location is the most pretty and aesthetic I ever been to! The perfect place to study if its not the pandemic. Really love how many options and flavors they have. Its always hard to choose what to order cause there are so many choices. My most favourite series from here gotta be the strawberry and mango series. Two must try drinks from both series gotta be the Strawberry Green Milk Tea w/ strawberry pearls and the Mango Latte w/ star jelly. The strawberry pearls are so unique and pairs so well with the milk tea! The two drinks are super refreshing and not too sweet!!
As the bubble tea expert of Victoria, I was quite impressed with the quality of the milk tea and the sweetness was perfect. The decor and ambiance of gongcha is very fresh and welcoming to hang with friends. The pearls though were underwhelming and flavourless, the texture was lacking as well. Overall I’d recommend the milk tea but maybe try other inclusions then the regular pearls. Service was quick and fast.
