At Golden Horseshoe Tattoo & Piercing, we take pride in our studio and our services. Health and Safety is first and foremost. All of our tattooing services are done with single use/pre-sterile disposable tubes and needles. We do this to make sure your safety is never at risk of a possible autoclave failure.

The piercing services at this studio are done to the highest possible standards. All of our jewelry is IMPLANT GRADE metal from North American companies, all of which provide us with Metal Certificates to validate the quality of their jewelry.

The products that we use to disinfect are all environmentally-friendly. This means they disinfect the surfaces and our equipment, up to and above Health Standards, but do not harm the planet.

We are always improving our studio and standards to keep up to date with what is new in our industry. We work with our local health board to ensure that we offer the best services and cleanest possible environment for our clients.

We also expand our skills and knowledge by attending tattoo conventions, seminars and training courses; and networking with other tattoo artists and piercers through guest spots.

I visited Golden Horseshoe today to have one of my ear holes tapered open. I was immediately greeted at the door by Josh, to whom I explained that I have been unable to wear earrings for 5 years due to a new sensitivity but I really want to wear earrings to my upcoming wedding. Unfortunately, I was no longer able to get an earring into one of my ears. Josh helped me right away by explaining why I couldn't get the earring in and tapering the hole open for me. He talked me through the whole procedure and was entirely knowledgeable, kind, and patient as I asked all the questions I had. He even explained to me that my sensitivity was likely a nickel allergy and was able to sell me some beautiful earrings that will not aggravate my allergy. I was truly touched by the genuine kindness Josh showed me when he heard my story. This was my first time at Golden Horseshoe and I was very pleased with the cleanliness and health and safety measures taken. Would definitely recommend!

Girl at the front is lovely and friendly. Wasn’t a very comfortable experience though. Artist seemed overly annoyed when changing the stencil placement. Wasn’t very professional. Also, was overcharged what I was quoted. Quite disappointed, especially after reading good reviews. Would not recommend.

May 25/2018 - Updated review Originally, I had given this establishment a five star rating. In fact, you can still read the original review I gave them, below this updated (now) two star review. In my original review, I wrote : "When we left, my son said "Oh, we'll definitely be coming back here" to me." And we did in fact return, just last night (evening of May 24/2018). Here's why I am downgrading my review. Yesterday my son wanted a more elaborate tattoo. I took him in and he had a brief consultation with them once again. They are good in the sense that they take their time with their clients. But when it came time to book his appointment date, they wanted an $80 deposit. This is where the problem lay. My son asked why they wanted an $80 deposit. Their response was to discourage people who book appointments and back out at the last moment, because it ties up their tattoo artists. I am the first to acknowledge that this is their business, so whatever policies they implement, they are well within their rights to do so. Here's the rub; we're not there to waste their time or ours. Furthermore, we were repeat customers (or at least we would have been). That should have been their clue that we're serious customers and not there to window shop. I've been working in Customer Service for over twenty years, so I tend to have a bias against Customer Service that's not up to par. Since they were adamant in maintaining their position on this policy and treat us like outsiders (new customers), whom they weren't sure were serious customers, we decided to shop around elsewhere to see what the competition was offering. We found a competitor who not only charged us a deposit as well, but their deposit was literally half of what Golden Horseshoe Tattoo & Piercing was charging us! Because we had no previous transaction with their competitor, I didn't mind paying the deposit. My gripe is not about the money, but how they chose to treat repeat customers. They do great artwork, but they have a long way to go in terms of Customer Service. Definitely won't be returning. ======================================= Brought my older son in here to get his first tat. He gently reminded me I'd be a hypocrite if I objected (since I have one myself); little bugger. But he's legally an adult now so I figured I'd join him to see what he was going to get done. He decided on something simple : Two lines of Roman numerals. The first line is his mothers birthdate, and right below that is my birthdate. It turned out pretty good actually. I thought it was a pinch on the pricier side considering it was only text but my son was happy with it (you'll notice I didn't take off a star for the pricing), so as long as he's happy I'm golden. On the plus side (regarding pricing), they don't pressure you or use any pushy sales tactics. Everything was very relaxed & laid back. I called in ahead of time to get an idea of the pricing but was told it's something they cannot quote over the phone. They require you to come in and speak with a consultant since there are many factors (tat size, design, etc.). But they answered all of our questions, they were very friendly and their smiles left a positive impression on us both. I know a few people who are actually intimidated by going into places like a tattoo parlour, but they're a friendly bunch. When we left, my son said "Oh, we'll definitely be coming back here" to me. Who knows? I might even have my tat touched up (the colours have faded; after all it's been over 20 years since I had it done). That's something they offer there as well; tattoo touch up's. They also offer piercings and ear spacers. The latter is a bit too weird for my liking, but hey...to each his own. Be warned, they do not accept debit cards. They only accept CASH, but they do have an ATM in their establishment but it will charge you $1.50, so you might want to stop at your local bank to avoid that additional cost. We didn't know otherwise we would've stopped off at the bank (which was on the way anyways). Live and learn. :)

I have four pieces from Matt Majka and a full sleeve by darryl hart (who moved provinces. Womp ) and will be back for more when work scheduling allows. This place is dope.

Got my first tattoo here, the staff and artist were friendly, nice, well imformed, and provided an excellent experience for me. Plan to get many more here and reccomend it to everyone I talk too.
