Fantastic staff, always friendly and welcoming, they handle every situation very professionally. They have a wide range of equipment, and lots of natural lighting. They have a women's only area and have amazing and well educated staff to train you. I absolutely recommend this gym to anyone looking for a safe, accepting environment.
Disgusting excuse for a company, continuing to scam previous customers to avoid bankruptcy. Signed up for a membership in 2018 at the City Centre location, then the pandemic hit and gyms closed. It took me a few months to realize that I was STILL PAYING MY GYM MEMBERSHIP. I had paid hundreds of dollars to a closed gym. When I realized, I confronted them and requested a refund and closure of my account. I told they would not honor a refund for the months of membership I was charged for during province wide gym closures, but they would credit me personal training sessions. I repeated that I wanted my account closed and no longer would require PT sessions, but the manager argued that I could either pay the $100 account closure fee or freeze my account. I refused to pay the account closure fee as that would bring my loses to over $500 at a gym I didn't use during 2020. Now, months late in 2022 I see ANOTHER payment leave my account to 'Club Fit Glenora' which I did NOT sign up for or authorize. I have made a Better Business Bureau report and will be filing another. The entire company needs to do better and stop taking advantage of Albertans.
Love this gym, great instructors, a variety of classes and positive environment. I’ve been going to Anna Kratochvil’s classes a lot, love her barre workout, cardio and pump and HITT and core. I really work up a good sweat and it is challenging yet I can go at my own pace. I like the extra instructions she tries to give each of us so we work out with proper form and technique to not get hurt. Also love Norm on Tuesdays at the Glenora location, a wonderful yoga instructor!
Please beware of this gym and its management. They are tricksters and will charge you for hidden charges. While selling the membership they put you on a contract and do not explain things clearly. Management exploit people of their compulsions and not at all accommodate. I learnt my lesson and will definitely advise everyone to go to any gym on the planet but gymvmt. Please keep an eye on your bank statement as this gym has a habit of charging you money out of the blue. Please go to Goodlife fitness as they do not put you on any contract so there is no early cancellation fee. DO NOT GO TO THIS CURSED place called GYMVMT
I have recently returned to this Glenora GYMVMT, which was formerly a World Health Club location. I really like the location as it is nearby my residence. A glaring difference from my time at this location prior to Covid, is the cleanliness of the equipment. There used to be regular cleaning not just client wipe downs of all the equipment but, sadly, no more. There is dust buildup on equipment and window ledges. You would think, during Covid, cleanliness would be a priority. On the other hand, the bathroom/change room is pretty clean as every time I am there a male cleaner is in the room, making it difficult to go to bathroom and change. Seems like poor decisions in the running of this gym. It's the details that make a difference. UODATE - February 8, 2022 This gym has taken my complaints and addressed them very admirably. The equipment is now being cleaned on a regular basis and the schedule for the male cleaner in the women's change room has been changed so I have not been inconvenienced by his presence lately. Good job Glenora GYMVMT. Thanks you for creating a great place to work out and listening to my concerns.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. You are marks, not customers to them, ripping people off is part of their business model. This business makes it's money off of people like me who forget about their memberships and then, when we try to cancel, they put up as many obstacles as possible to see if they can get us to forget or otherwise give it up. Charging me for a final month after I haven't used the gym in years is absolutely obscene and no decent business would be caught dead doing something like that. It is a clear and blatant rip-off by them. Truly pathetic and honestly a bit shocking. I mean it's 2021, are the incredibly dishonest and scammy tactics re: memberships being nearly impossible to cancel really still necessary? I haven't been to this gym in years and seriously cannot cancel my membership - which I didn't even know I still had? - without paying a fee and visiting in person? Like, seriously, is this type of lowlife stuff really the only way you guys can make money? Are you proud of yourselves? The losers that run this place wouldn't last 60 seconds in my business, I promise you that.
I've been going to this location for nearly a decade. It was once extremely busy, with many trainers and classes. However, now that it has shifted to a "no frills" type of gym, the trainers and classes are out of the mix. The facility is clean and well maintained. The gym is never too crowded or busy. With a global pandemic going on, it is nice to work out in a space that isn't overrun with people. Another great thing about this gym is the affordable cost. The bi-weekly dues are now $9.99 two year contract. With that said, some of the equipment is outdated and could use a refresh. Other than that, it is a good place to workout with a clean and friendly atmosphere.
World Health Glenora is the best gym that I have been to. The staff and personal trainers are very friendly and approachable, they ask how you are doing and engage you in conversations sometimes. They are willing to answer any questions that a member/non member will have. The personal trainers are well educated and know what they are doing. Having worked with trainers before, I find them encouraging and helpful in reaching my fitness goals. I really appreciate the trainers there! The most recent trainer I have worked with is Ethan Bell and he is a great trainer and kind person. He pushed me, encouraged me and helped me with my nutrition as well. Whenever I had a bad day and went to the gym, I always felt better when I left the gym. Some trainers can sense when I am having a bad day and will make my day better. The gym is kept fairly clean and machines are fixed promptly when they need maintenance done. I would recommend Glenora to anyone looking for a gym.
I have been going to World Health Glenora for just over a year. The staff there are wonderful. They are very helpful and are always smiling. The gym and locker rooms are clean and there is even a small women only section upstairs. There is a great selection of equipment and classes. The biggest support in making healthy changes in my life have come from my personal trainer, Ethan Bell. He is motivating and knowledgeable. He is constantly working on ways to improve my workouts and tailoring them to fit my needs.
