I didn't stay here but I visited the site. The Blackfeet Tribe were there selling jewelry, telling their story and performing. It was so interesting. Located on the east side of Glacier Park. The ride from the west is a little dicey through the mountains and I wouldn't drive at night. The hotel looked beautiful.
Taking for granted that the hotel is an old building, I paid a little extra to get one of the renovated rooms, where the bathroom door would not close. The best we're comfortable but not the best and it was definitely very noisy. However staying there is definitely an experience because the building is a museum piece for sure. The restaurant there is very good and the service was excellent
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel was built over a hundred years ago with logs from Oregon! The view is spectacular ! The staff were excellent—exceptionally friendly and helpful. The bellman’s captain Adam picked us up from the train station, took care of the luggage up to our room. I noticed many staff are from many countries such as Thailand. Our room was nice and clean. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay at Glacier National Park.
The rooms are really poor. Carpet ripped and stained. Bathroom not easy to use as shower so small, sink small, and no place to put anything. Room was not very clean, baseboards and behind and under beds dirty. Bed was comfortable, and heater did work. I know very historic hotel, but to charge a luxury price for a room that is so outdated and decrepit is quite incredible. Needs a total redo, especially for the high end resort pricing.
Such a pretty location. There is not much around the town other than the hotel and the 2 restaurants inside. There is live music sometimes inside which made going to sleep early for an early hike the next day a little difficult. There are no TVs, the wifi was decent. I enjoyed eating in the lounge, the staff were very friendly. There is a little coffee spot inside as well that had some quick breakfast sandwiches that were pretty good.
