Firstly, it’s important that you make a reservation ahead of time because they get fully booked easily. We were walk-in and had to wait around 30 minutes to find seating. The food was delicious, especially the fried tempura and chicken chow mein. It was flavourful with the right amount of spices. The food was freshly prepared and did not taste like it was reheated as is the case with other Hakka type of restaurants. Our server was attentive and gave us a recommendation. It did get busy and loud but the food was worth it. The portion size is either for 1-2 people OR 3-4 people but found that the smaller size is enough for 3 people. Overall, great experience! :
They’ve recreated the Pakistani-Chinese flavours very well. Food quality is good, serving sizes are decent too. Service is very good however! We went twice and found a difference in quality so I’d say you can get a different experience at different times.Food: 4/5
Authentic Pakistani taste just like their Karachi Ginsoy branch. Everything tasted great especially the egg fried rice. Anup was very welcoming and made good recommendations of food. The wait time is long on a weekend just like all the other restaurants in the plaza due to popularity. The food was worth the wait.Food: 5/5
Horrible! Only one word. We went at 3:45 PM which wasn’t even lunch time. We waited one hour, after the soup, for our main course. They had conveniently missed our order and rushed it up after we reminded them. There were hardly two servers on the floor and probably only one chef in the kitchen. That’s the only thing that justifies the time taken to bring our food. The food was bland and tasteless. Probably out of the fridge and re-heated. The servings were TINY , maybe for kids. A double serving was only enough for two people. Terrible experience. We paid 200$ for the most horrible food we have ever eaten. Ruined my day. * The reply from the owner proves the professionalism. Our tip proves our generosity, not the restaurant’s efficiency. UNBELIEVABLE response! The food was STALE, not even close to fresh. And NO, the quantity definitely is SMALL keeping in mind we had two KIDS. Try employing more people instead of justifying your efficiency with the customer tips. With 2 people on floor to take orders from the FULL restaurant is probably why what happened, happened!!!!! And NO , nobody came to check on us. We were just told “ oh we are making fresh food”. People who came after us were served before because your place MISSED the order. And if you want, I can come and discuss this at the restaurant. But thank you for proving my point with your own reply!!!!!!
We recently had the opportunity to dine at Ginsoy - Extreme Chinese Mississauga, and our experience was a mix of highs and lows. Let me break it down for you: The food at Ginsoy was okay. While there were some dishes that stood out, others failed to leave a lasting impression. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the dynamite prawns. However, some of the other dishes we tried didn't quite meet our expectations. The variety in the menu is extensive, but the execution of some dishes could use improvement. The ambiance at Ginsoy was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. The décor is modern and stylish, creating a comfortable environment to enjoy your meal. One aspect where Ginsoy truly shines is its service. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and prompt. They went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable. Their knowledge of the menu and recommendations added to the overall positive atmosphere of the restaurant. The dynamite prawns were the star of the show. The dish was impeccably presented, and the taste was simply divine. I highly recommend trying this dish if you visit Ginsoy. Taking everything into consideration, I would rate our experience at Ginsoy - Extreme Chinese Mississauga 4 stars. The excellent service and pleasant ambiance compensated for the average food quality. If you're a fan of dynamite prawns and enjoy a cozy ambiance with good service, Ginsoy is worth a visit.
The food reminded us of the Ginsoy from Karachi, absolutely LOVED the dynamite shrimp. We came with a large group and ordered multiple dishes and everything was served hot and fresh! 10/10 from us!Food: 5/5
Please make a reservation before you head to this place. This was my third time here and but the wait times are insane. They usually have a wait between 1-2 hours. So keep that in mind. We started with the Dynamite Prawn, Manchurian Soup. I loved both starters, but the soup was my favourite. For our Main course I got the Mix fried rice, Mix Chowmein, Classic Beef Chilli Dry, Spicy Garlic chicken and Spicy Schezwan Fish. Loved the fried rice, mostly because it was not greasy like other Hakak places. The Fried rice with Garlic curry was a great pair. Noodles had good flavour too. What amazed me was how large the quantity was. They are generous which is good because one dish costs $25. My only complaint would be the time taken to get our food to the table. We got our mains after an hour, which was very ridiculous. I had to ask the server the status of the food because no one came to update us about our food, which got me and my guests a little annoyed. If the restaurant can improve on serving the food faster I would definitely recommend everyone to try this place.
If you are craving Desi style Chinese cuisine then this is the spot! Single portion sizes are decent but their family portions are generous!! One family plate should be good for 4 people at least. The food tasted really good, the staff were very friendly and recommended us good options. The ambulance is also really nice, I like how they paid attention to details to ensure you get an Asian restaurant feel and vibe. Definitely check this place out if your craving some halal desi style Chinese food!
We were finally able to visit Ginsoy. Despite the hype that this brand carries with it, sadly, for me, it failed that expectation. The taste that Ginsoy has from Karachi was missing big time! We ordered the following: Chicken Hot and Sour Soup Red 10/10 Prawn Crackers - Free 10/10 Dynamite Prawns 10/10 Chicken Fried Rice 8/10 Chicken Manchurian 6/10 Chicken Chowmein 7/10 Mint Drink 9/10 What's missing with the main courses is a strong flavour. These dishes should be at their peak flavours and should be nostalgic for a Karachiite. One thing that I would recommend is to not have all the dishes in chicken and try prawn or fish or beef as that can also add a variation to taste. Having said that, I'll definitely come again and try a few other dishes to decide if this can be a regular place or not. Vegetarian options: Yes, they have a vegetarian version of almost all dishes. Dietary restrictions: Halal friendly. Parking: Lots of spots are available during the day and night. Kid-friendliness: Not too many. Wheelchair accessibility: Available.
Bought food from here for the first time. The sweet corn soup was very tasty. The chilli beef dry was tasty but really very dry and didn’t look like it was freshly cooked, plus the quantity for the price $16 was way less as compared to other restaurant. Liked the chicken Hakka chow, only advice go easy on the garlic. I will definitely buy food again provided it cooked freshly and not so dry.
