Gigi's Cupcakes of East Lansing

Really good cupcakes plus they run deals regularly on hooked/have a membership club that will get you a free cupcake on your birthday, my favorite is probably the peanut butter one but you can't go wrong with any of your choices here

Awesome cupcakes. Angel Food Cake cupcake is my favorite one. This one is a seasonal cupcake which bums me out.

My better half discovered Gigi's and surprised me with a few cupcakes (knows me well). On presentation and service, they're 5 stars...but on taste, not so much. I tried the cookie dough and oh my god did it have a lot of frosting - had to scrape all of it off, it was waaay too decadent and I'm not one to shy away from sweet things. The frosting on it was supposed to be like raw cookie dough, but it was hard and grainy. The cake itself was very dense and dry (I had to eat it with a fork). I got to the middle of the cupcake and got a mouth full of pure baking powder, almost ralphed, and promptly threw the remainder of it in the trash. I don't know if Gigi's makes their cupcakes in house or not, but if so I would urge the bakers to sift dry ingredients thoroughly to avoid this from happening. They seem like a great addition to the area and are competitively priced, but I don't think I'll visit after tasting the end product.

I travel the world and stay in good shape/health, but hey, I love cupcakes. I find a local shop in pretty much every town I am in. Found this place online, reviews were good, so what is to lose. My suggestion...find a different place. Not many choices, and a basic cake with a huge glob of way to sugary frosting on top. I'm sure the college kids love them, but I've had cupcakes in over 100 different places and these were the worst. Go buy Hostess before you go here.

They did my daughter's wedding mini-cupcakes and they were absolutely beautiful and delicious! Everyone raved about them!
