Story

Gear Up Sports has been a successful rental and ski tuning store located in Canmore, Alberta for 20 years. We rent downhill, backcountry, light touring and nordic skis as well as snowshoes, ice skates, climbing equipment and crampons.

In the summer we rent full suspension mountain bikes and hybrid bikes for smoother terrain.

I was recommended to come here by a friend and they did not disappoint. The staff is extremely knowledgeable in everything they rent. You will be fitted properly and truly enjoy the experience. They also recommend places to go! The rental prices were better than any other place I've been. I will be back to rent more when I visit Canmore again.

Came here with a group of 7 and they were able to accommodate some us for crampons and others for snowshoes. I don't remember the guys' name but he was super helpful and patient with all of us asking him questions and trying to get us fitted. This place was really close to where we were staying at and they definitely didn't disappoint. The place was spacious and lots of bench seating. We did not use their services in terms of waxing/tuning skis or snowboards but I would imagine they would be top notch about it. I'll have to test them out next time. Overall, I would recommend this place if you are around this area before heading up onto the slopes.

We hired a snowboard and two pairs of crampons. Their policy is that you only pay for what you use, which is fantastic, it meant that we didn't have to keep going back and forth to hire shops. The staff are really helpful and full of local information. They are open really early too, which means that you can hire and still catch the first lift in Lake Louise or Sunshine Village.

Have my bindings adjusted there. Although they were not able to do that on my first visit (special binndings), they told me to come another day as some expert is there. And he helped for free! Awesome customer service, Highly recommended.
