The best Indian cuisine on the island! Amazing flavour and great ambiance in this hidden gem. We loved the samosas, pakora, butter chicken special recipe, and lamb vindaloo. Make sure to order the frozen mango cream desert with pistachios and almonds. The owner was so kind to us. We will definitely be back!
Food here is amazing. The only reason I gave 4 stars is that we were seated at a bench table and the fabric we sat on was disgusting. It desperately needs replacing. Putting table cloths down on it did not help.
The service was fabulous!! The food was delicious!!! Just the right amount of spice!! My partner raved about the naan bread, both the garlic and the house naan!! Warm atmosphere!! Made us forget about current circumstances for a few minutes!! Lovely owners!!

Very friendly, beautiful decor, amazing food, great price. The only thing is I think the tables could be bigger. And a little less cramped. Will go again and very recommended
Amazing indian food that tastes like it shouldnt be in Nanaimo.
The staff/owners of Gateway to India have always been incredible to us when ordering. We order a large amount of items and have never had an issue with receiving an incorrect order. The staff always greet us with a warm smile upon picking everything up and help us out to our car.
